Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

                      Day 1 - Hyderabad - Nizamabad - Adilabad - Hinganghat

The route detail is bit confusing, how come i started my journey from Hyd as i belong to Pune.Thats
a long story my friends.Few weeks back i have been to tadoba national park(nearby Chandrapur).Which is around 800-900 Kms from Pune by good highways and better roads.
And its just 400 Kms from Hyderabad. So when i left from Tadoba,I had to reach office on the next day.It would hAVE BEEN A TOUGH JOURNEY considering the road condition. So i landed in hyedarabad by night and left my bike
at friends place and took an overnight volvo to reach Pune.

So this is how i started my 'Maiden Ride to my Home town'.The pre preparation to this ride includes nothing as i already knew which routes to follow and places to visit, except the last miniute shoppings. My saddle bag was with my fellow tourer(DevilJin) and he was ongoing with some family emergency. So i decided not to bother him in such turbulent times for such a petty bag....i bought a new saddle bag from Probiker Pune worth 1700 INR.And not to forget the Balaclava.I must register my self in Limca Book Of world record in losing most number of balaclava.Every ride i need to buy new balaclava.

So lets keep aside all this bull shit and start with the ride,Shall wee ???

This is the time of the year..say it Christmas week or December last week.I do a tour of MP and visit my hometown.I have been doing this for last two years. And trust me my parents doesnt know that i have came all the way by bike.I had to park my bike at friends place and take a bus to my Village(Bhadutola). But this time,I had decided to take my bike till my home, whatever consiquences may occur.I will face it

Hyderabad to Nagpur its all 04 Lane highway except 03 patches. One patch of approx 50 Kms and two patches of around 30-30 Kms.Rest all is awesome 04 lane.Work is in progress for those 03 patches and god knows when it will be completed.I started from hyd on Sunday afternoon around 01 PM,yeah blame it on the late night saturday party.I made it to Higanghat by 08 PM in the night.

Got an accomodation for 300 INR and crashed to bed.

                      Cheers

                        Day 2 - Hinganghat - Nagpur - Jabalpur - Bedaghat - Sihora

Another day starts with a lazy start and i hit the highway towards Nagpur. The only bad patches between Hyd to Nagpur were already over,so the rest of the journey to the Nagpur was a quick one.Took the bypass to avoid the city traffic.
The route which i had planned to reach Bedaghat from Nagpur was via Seoni - Lakhnadaun - Jabalpur.Road condition between Nagpur to Seoni is not very pleasant, the road looks like an excavation site.
But suddenly few Kms before Seoni, the road becomes 04 lane.I mean this was an exception as per the road standards of Madhya Pradesh.Road till jabalpur was Okayish sort of.Not too bad,one can easily cruise at 80-100.

Few kms before Jabaplur i followed the directions for Bedaghat. And i was there at 05:00 PM.In order to reach till Dhuadhaar falls and narmada ghat. One has to trek down few 500-800 metres.there is also a cemented road which goes till very end.
But selected peoples are allowed to enter on that road.Like VIP and VVIPS sort of.I guard at entry gate was an easy nut to crack and looking at my get up and bike number he let me go with minimal arguments.

Bedaghat, known for the marble rock bed and Dhuadhar falls. The marble rocks, soar to a hundred feet and sparkle when sunlight falls on it.The best view of this place can be admired in the moonlit nights when entire spectacle undergoes transformation.

And for those who doesn't know about Holy Narmada which flows on this Marble rock bed.Narmada originates from Amarkantak and flows into the Arabian Sea. it is among the most sacred rivers of India, it is believed a dip in the river washes away sins. According to Hindu mythology, Ganga river became polluted by millions of people taking dip in her waters to wash away their sins. To cleanse herself, Ganga acquired the form of a black cow and took bath in Narmada. Narmada is considered daughter of Lord Shiva.
The place was too crowdy and the evening was very cold,so avoided the bath

after spending some good time at the banks of Narmada i headed towards Khajuraho.Plan was to ride until it gets dark and stay wherever it gets dark.Took the Jabalpur bypass, condition of the bypass was pretty bad.And my nightmare did not ends here, road till Sihora was in pathetic condition.Potholes, lots of dust and lots of trucks coming right onto us on our own lane.Damn, its true what they say in their add "MP Ajab He,Sabse Alag he "

I somehow managed to reach Sihora by 08:00 PM and hunt for a hotel started.I got an hotel on the highway itself for 200 bucks.

                        Cheers

                          Day 3 - Sihora - Katni - Pawai - Panna - Khajuraho

The freaky road continues to travel along with me.I reached Katni and took a left diversion to move ahead towards Panna. The road didn't looked promising it was under construction.
And around 80 Kms of it was all Kachha road. But i was enjoying it,because there was no traffic at all.It was an perfect offroading experience.Next time i am coming to MP,i should better
                          bring an offroader like Impulse

Spent my half day on these troubled roads of MP,when i finally reached to Khajuraho.

Checked in a hotel for 300 bucks a day.
Gates has been put up on the road which leads to the heart of khajuraho,to avoid vehicles and traffic inside the city.So one has to park your bike outside and then take a walk inside Khajuraho.
And then for bikers there are always some shortcuts

Without wasting time i picked up my camera gear and headed for the Western group of temples. The best thing about ASI sites is the cheap entry ticket.10 Rs and the Western group of temples was my playground.

Khajuraho has 22 temples, made up of sandstone. These stone blocks were first carved and then the interlocking pieces were assembled to form a temple. Each temple is different from one another. These beautiful group of temples shows us the golden time of art and devotion at their peak.Who cares,I was more interested in the Kamasutra poses

The entire second half of the days was spent on noticing and admiring the beautiful architecture. The main temples of the Western Group are.

                          Kandariya Mahadeo Temple
                          Chaunsat Yogini Temple
                          Lakshamana Temple
                          Chitragupta Temple
                          Matangeswara Temple
                          Vishwanath Temple
                          Varaha Temple houses

Khajuraho is toutisty kind of place, yet very simple, peaceful and filled with very welcoming local public.Night life in Khajuraho does not exist, but there are quite a few eating joints which are open till midnight. And for booze lovers, there is one BAR & Restaurant in Khajuraho named Hotel Payal, which is
run and maitained by MP Tourism. There were hotels too which had bars (like Radisson),but they were too expensive

It was quite cold in the evening,so i went to Hotel Payel to have my share of Drinks and food.Later part was reaching hotel and having a good night sleep.

                          Cheers
