I was in office with not so busy day. I was thinking what should I do for the weekend, either cycling or bike ride. My colleague was discussing about the lodge rooms unavailability,
as whenever he goes never gets one. That is when a thought came in my mind I shall ride((solo) to Dharmathala, as it has been my favorite destination since my childhood.
Once I had cycled there in 17 hours with a whopping distance of 329km from Bangalore. So thought can do it up and down in a day.My bike was serviced well in
the last weekend and as was in good condition. Logged out from office and packed the required things.
I woke at 4AM got refreshed with quick prayer and I was on the bike at 4.44AM. The weather was cool outside. Cruised with a descent pace of 60-70 kmph.
After Nelamangala there weather was chilling cold. I started to shiver. I had an extra rain coat(If rains), stopped and wore that.for some relief. Surpassed Kunigal,
and stopped at Kamat Hotel before Hassan for breakfast and the time was 8:05AM. About 25 mins was the break and continued towards Sakaleshpura. Then started
the shiradi ghat with downhill. The roads are worse(potholes) all the hatchbacks, sedan, SUV s and buses were slow. I kept a speed of 35-40 navigating through the potholes.
By 10:45 I reached the temple premises, checked the odo and it was 329km.
There was a huge crowd waiting for the darshan, I got into quick darshan by paying 200 bucks. Had the lunch at temple and back on the bike at 1:44 PM.
The same way back was little boring. I stopped at shiradi ghat to enjoy the breath taking scenic views. I stopped near
AIMS(Adichunchangiri Institute of Medical Science) college for a butt break which I needed badly. Had chats and coffee it was 6PM. Cruised with good speed. At
Nelamangala toll gate there was lot of traffic back logging. These bus and truck guys cover the road's left side completely not even little space providing to the 2 wheelers which is
irritating.
Reached by 8PM home and informed to my family been to temple and covered 658km, they never believed. They asked me prasad from temple as a proof and gave them.
On the whole it was a wonderful ride. Happy with the performance of pulsar and average mileage per liter was 56KM.
