After exchanging byes, Yuv and myself started to gain momentum on NH and traffic thinned out as we go by. We got used to when people give us a stare, shock, disbelief, grin, laugh to our costume. I should say the weather was warm, whenever we took our breaks. Nearing Vizag, traffic gathered and we both were catching up each other as locals cut across lanes, cross, what not. At one point we missed each other. After exchanging messages and calls, got to know he is ahead and was able to see him in about 5 kms. Phew! It was lunch time!! So found the mess just nearby and filled our tummy. Later Yuv with his decent Telugu got directions to Rishikonda beach. Ah! heard it has a wonderful marine drive long so could not resist.
Rode from the start of Marine drive and it was wonderful to see the curvy road descending from the hill on to the other side. It was wonderful. We saw few resorts and also Haritha (AP Govt.), so thought would fancy our chances. Hell yeah! no accommodation. Then I thought would just have a word with Franklin, to know which area should we be looking for accommodation nearby. He said would get back shortly. Then he calls and gives a number and said call Ravi Kant and he is there in Vizag and should be able to help you guys. I felt like we have been pampered but at the same time thought, Thanks is just a small word.
I called up the person and introduced myself. He said Franklin had called him and informed about our presence, felt nice. Later he informed that he had recently met with an accident so might not be able to meet, I asked him not to trouble himself and asked him the area name to search for the accommodation. I was happy that now we have something to go and search. So we started from the marine drive and towards the town, after ten minutes got a call, it was Ravi, asked about our location, we stood just opposite to the familiar hospital. He said he's coming along with another friend to
meet us. So we met at the Hospital gate and felt bad seeing him coming with a broker arm plastered. His friend(forgot his name) guided us to couple of places and since it was holiday season, could not find any accommodation. Later settled for a superb room for a cheap rent of 300 bucks. Brilliant find, even mosquitoes and pests dare visit that place. So we thought to ourselves that to spend more time away. So we started to visit nearby places. First was to go to port. Saw lot of fishing boats carry fishes shored up after. Took a walk inside the port, saw all the activities were dwelling down as it was dusk.
We went to beach side road, lot of activities, may be because of holiday season? wow, it was crowded. So we parked our bikes and started clicking, chatting, action plan including the survival of that night etc. I really liked the place as the whole road were light, hotels, shops were decorated with fancy lights etc. After some light snacks on the road side, we both started to explore along the marine drive.
Hahaa.. it was fun. We kept going through the entire marine drive end, while chilling wind cuts across your face through the cracks of the visor was awesome. On our way back to room, had dinner and crashed.
Next day morning, woke up early for the sun rise photography. Packed our bags by 5:45 AM and bid good bye to the unknown faces and headed towards to the marine drive and then head towards Odisha.
Wonderful click by Yuv completely prepared for this.
Sun was lazy so we started to move on. On the way we saw the rising sun.. might have missed but not lost a whole lot.
LESSON LEARNED:- While on the road trip, carry multi-pin as it helps while charging mobiles, battery packs etc.
Coming up....Srikakulam - Berhampur - Chilika Lake - Puri
