  • Gunjur Lake and Iynagudi Lake

My Pulsar came back from Suhail's garage its been a week. This is the first time I have given my bike to a local mechanic (Sohail) and he has done some real good job on the bike. When I took test ride after he dropped the bike at home I was like riding a new bike. Engine gave me smoother feel, seat felt lot smoother compare to Duke.

I found myself very uncomfortable on Pulsar. Couldn't lean on the curve confidently. WTF, I gotta learn riding pulsar all over again ??? Never mind . I did all my major trips on it and have lots of sweet memory in last 5 years. And that's probably the main reason I don't wanna sell this bike. I definitely wanna ride it out. Was just waiting for a chance to take the Pulsar out. Finally that happened. And this time decided to ride to places where I never been. Need to make it short and ride to unexplored area. Spent some times on map and left home. I left home around 12:45 PM. I had no mode of doing over speed run on it. Decided to find out few lakes which might be good in this hot weather. Though in this season water level might be very low or might be no water at all.

Anyways, Gunjur lake is the first one where I want to go. Its around 20 kms from Doddaballapur. From my place to Doddaballapur ride was like riding in city. After Yelahanka to Doddaballapur road is single lane with too much of traffic. Road is awesome though. The last time I rode to Doddaballapur was when finding alternative route to Nandi hills. And I love this route. After Doddaballapur the road is too awesome with lesser traffic.

Riding Pulsar after long time was truly amazing feelings and the bike was doing absolutely awesome. I din't push it more than 100 kmph.

Saw a board indicating towards "Shri Ghati Subrahmanya Swami Temple" and felt to take the turn. And folks, thats was the right call I took. Such an amazing place it is. As soon as I took the right turn, the landscape brought smile to my face. Lot of birds were flying around, unfortunately I din't carry my telephoto lens

This is how the road looks which leads you to the temple.

Rocky hills are all around. Early morning or late afternoon would be the perfect time to be there.

Next visit I shall climb this hill. It didn't look that difficult.

While coming back from the Temple area, followed another short trail and that did lead me to the below pics

Soon left that area. few kms ahead is the Gunjur Lake. No one can miss the lake as it is just beside the high way. As expected, water is very less. Nice place for early morning short ride with large number of bikers

Couldn't spend more time near the lake. It was too hot. Reached Gauribidanur. Decided to head back Bangalore via Tumkur. Madhugiri is on the way and very close-by but I visited Madhugiri before so did avoid this time. Took Gauribidanur - Korategere - Tumkur route. Amazing scenic route with awesome tar.

Gauribidanur - Byrenahalli and took left turn towards Korategere and what a tiny smooth road.

Reached Korategere and Sun got orange. Saw the map. Very nearby to the Iynagudi lake. But seeing the size of lake on the map I lost interest to visit Iynagudi . Just before that found another lake which looked giant compare to Iynagudi and had no name on Google map. It was just after the Agrahara bus stop. Again its beside the high way and very much noticeable.

Ending the day beside the lake with my beloved Pulsar, charming sound from water and amazing Sunset view along with....nothing could be better than this.

This is how the complete route looks on the map

You don't need destination, you will just love to ride on this route.

Reached home at around 8:15 PM. Total kms 245. Mileage figure 41 kmpl. Falling for my Pulsar all over again.

    Thank you all.

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.
