Friends,
One fine morning, its a very gloomy rainy day. the monsoon was on its peak,
people from Bombay will know how it rains, when it starts to rain.
You can say how can the gloomy day be a fine morning.
I like the rains, thats why!!!
Saw out of the window, there was some bug biting me to go for a ride. But since there are many things to be taken care off, the Wife, the Kids, the Parents. have to duck every bouncer and also try to hook one.
and then after all the bouncers and yorkers, the phone rings.
its an old fellow rider and old Pal. almost the same mentality when it comes to bikes, Ride with no pillion, Ride Free... Well the first line he says is "Abhi tak Jinda ho, Thakur.(Still Alive), and the reply was jab tak aakhon mein jaan hai, mujhe chalte jaana hai....
he says chalo jaate hain, and that was it.
We had earlier chatted on the phone like once in 6 months, and talk abt all things. but nothing about riding came by.
it Seems to be like after ages, when we had talked on the phone, and chatted for a while.
The days just seemed to slip by, we were boys then, now Dads, still the passion for the bikes isnt dying, the rides all in all are yet fresh in the minds.
we were chatting about all the things we had done and the plans that we missed.
Well, we fixed a time and place not the destination.
the journey starts, we plan for a shorter ride and one dayer. since it was wet rainy and green without an sun, the best time to ride in the cool.
We met at about 10am at the bhivandi bypass junction. I was late by 15 mins. Greeted each other and looked at each others rides, both wondering why 2 hardcore 2 stroke guys riding the 4strokes, which were so silent that we had to use the horns/lights to alert people and traffic ahead of us. Its because we were riders of the foreever bikes, yes you guessed it right, the Jawa and the Yezdis.
Start the ride, My friend, lets name him 'R' said lets ride just like that for a 15/20 kms just for the heck of it, he meant the coordination. and for the signals, if we were rusty with them. the most important was to stop, just flash the pass light a couple of times in random, or just raise your hand as in the older days.
anyway, we rode for some time and some kms, then stopped. R, being a electronic genius had made a portable charger for the mobile connected to the bikes battery.
R was riding a Bajaj Avenger 220. and me on the Unicorn Dazzler 150.
both bikes were running very well. we exchanged the bikes for a while, R was preety impressed with soft suspension setup on my Dazzle, I liked the very casual seating of the Avenger. though found it to be a bit noisy. but then it is a gem.
Did not take any cameras, so will have to bear with me for the quality of the pics.
We went to Harishchandragad(fort), I had never been there and was completely lost.
plan was not to take the same route back, but as there is some important Dam, and the entry is restricted. so we turned back. stopped randomly to take some snaps.
All in All was nice ride, abt 150kms total. rode through the best and worst roads, but then we are used to these kinda roads.
People were watching us from their packed cages, and we were like all drenched. and all kinds of elements were on use, the colors of the helmet visor had turned in to rusty brown.
We were home before sunset, and that was much better. All were happy at home and Peace prevailed. Ha haha....
Enjoy the pics.
The Greens that we miss.
The dirt tracks.
The Rides.
