Thanks for accepting this Travellouge and Your warm Welcome

After completion of my studies i had an oppurtunity to work for a company in Rwanda. I was confused between Continuning my Doctorate or to accept this offer from Africa for a while. As i have been in the same company twice , it was not a new place. So i decided to go to Rwanda for few months. But this time I delibrately wanted to Ride in East africa.

From the first day, I started looking for an Enduro Motorcycle. After a couple of weeks a Belgian Guy posted an advertisement for an Yamaha Tenerre , I went and had a look but the Bike was not in a good condition. Later he offered me this Honda XL 600 V Transalp. The bike was pretty much in a good shape. But unfortunatley he didnt had any extra spares. So i called a friend of mine in Germany and sourced all the important spares for Bike. So the bike is Set. Now have to find time to ride. Finding time in Africa is not at all problem because life is very slow and contented. Once you start to accept it then you will definetly enjoy.

                      Akagera Park ( Rwanda)

Akagera National Park is 200 Kms far from the Capital city Kigali. The last 30 Kms it mor off road. But it was fun to ride in the dirt than Asphalt. The park has a variety of wildlife and is a habitat for over 500 different species of birds. Akagera National Park is known for attractions such as game drives to view wildlife and landscape, and bird safaris.

Motorbike is not allowed from the entrance of the park. So I joined with few of my friends in their SUV. We reached the entrace of the park around 3 PM and had enough time to find a camping place.

You are lucky i must. don't have to make much effort to find such places to go on ride becuase its in neighbourhood.

there must be special permits that you need to ride from one african country to another? how easy / difficult it is for a indian passport holder?
