waiting for the greeneries sirjii.and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.
#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
#overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road
(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

Ridermax- I have been waiting to see your ooty ride. Very smart decision to take Kanakpura Road instead of the crazy mysore road.
I am tuned in

Into The Forest and The Hills
After Malavalli we turn on to SH 33 up to Mysore (patchy in places but o.k.). Soon we are out of Mysore and pass Nanjangud and Gundalpet and enter the Bandipur Tiger Reserve.

Those of us who have ridden through this stretch during a greener season will be saddened by the bare and almost ghostly looking trees. The scene is almost surreal and I guess the recent tragic fire made matters worse. But we know the rains will come soon and the wonderful green will be back in all its glory.

THE PAST
...AND THE PRESENT !!

After a short tea break at Theppekadu, we start to ascend and soon begin to feel cooler with each hairpin climb. After a while we stop to admire the tall stately trees reaching up to the sky. The sight of these trees makes almost everyone stop and we can never really tire of admiring them.

Soon we can see the majestic Nilagiri hills rising up ahead invitingly. We pass through Ooty town quickly and on to Coonoor road and into Wellington to a warm welcome and hot lunch at our niece’s place.

I guess after the sweltering heat of the city, it’s now a time to ‘Chill’

The Return Ride & The Twisties Coming Up......
Cheers

The Return Ride & The Twisties
After the heat and dust of Bangalore city, it was great to just chill out in the cool Ooty weather. While the ‘girls’ were getting dinner ready, we ‘boys’ chilled out in our own way
After yakking away late into the night and a hot and tasty dinner, we finally wind up. It was wonderful to curl up under a warm blanket knowing that the next night we would be sweating it out in Bangalore.

We leave after a late breakfast and head out of Ooty. We take the 36 Hairpin short cut route and start our descend. It being a Sunday we find lots of bikers riding up the curves. No time to chat, just a wave, thumbs up and ride on.

Finally it's over
. Now it's back to the straights and back in to the forest.

Once the twisties are done with, we are soon at Theppekadu and shortly leave the forest and head back home.

Cheers Guys

Thanks Haroon !Originally posted by Haroon View PostRidermax- I have been waiting to see your ooty ride. Very smart decision to take Kanakpura Road instead of the crazy mysore road.

Yes I'm happy we took the Kanakapura road up to Mysore. The regular SH 17 was getting too monotonous and too crowded especially on the weekends. Moreover the numerous speed-breakers was a downer
.
The NH 209 was more relaxed and traffic free with the bonus of being flanked by paddy and sugar cane fields. Of course no CCDs or Kamat Upachars en route, you have to look for small local eateries and eat what you get, but for us it's adding to the fun of the ride
Regards & Best Wishes
BTW, The Full Log is Up !
