It was a joke, there were 4 ghat sections in total. The only decent one was Kambakti was the only one that could actually be called a ghat. Katraj, Tawandi and the other ones were jokes in the name of a ghat. Even Kambakti, left me wondering till the end if it was a one way or a two way road.

Tawandi was a 6 lane concrete ghat, I don't know if I can call it that....

Trackday as such costs only 400/- for a half a day session. The other costs involved would be fuel, transportation costs of your bike. The other thing one must ensure is that there is no other event or such planned in the weekend when u wanna have a trackday. And quite a few time there have been last minute changes and suddenly someone books the track for testing.

Thanks buddy, for the immediate response. We can always get in touch with you to find our whether the track is booked for a particular weekend or not (I believe so).

The Kambatki is a one way ghat. Smooth roads and ample oncoming visibility make it a treat to ride on. But most of the times, the traffic there ensures that you crawl around.

Ask Niranjan abt how his ride was when he was riding in Kambatki...!!!

You get in touch with Joel, who prolly might some MMSC guy's phone number where one could find out if its booked or not. I usually went with a mentor who would find out if the track was booked or not, so my part of the job was just to ride!

After doing the Goa-Mumbai route, I guess I'd find most ghats boring now!

Hey man, can you elaborate some more on the trackdays. Here is my set of questions

By half a day do you mean 6 hrs or so?
What's the total distance from Pune to Coimbatore?
How are the roads? (looking for some pointers on the best route to take)
Approximately how long will it take to cover it, if we are riding at say 80-90kmph?
Availability of fuel on the route?
Is there good accommodation available near the track?
What are the special requirements, if any, to hit the track?

Sorry for bombarding you with my queries but am planning a trip real soon. So need to find as much info as I can get. Thanks a ton.

Pune to Coimby is about 1150 kms.

Roads are fantastic more or less.

If you are seasoned to long distance riding, then you can actually ride the entire distance in a span of less than 24 hours.

Is there good accommodation available near the track?
Coimby is a pretty big place, so accomodation should not be an issue.

What are the special requirements, if any, to hit the track?
Need to have riding gear, fuel in your bike, money for the sessions and fire to ride

Pune-Bangalore - 12 Hours

Bangalore Internals - 2 Hours

Bangalore-Chennai - 4 hours

Btw, I would'nt advise riding down all the way for the trackday. It would leave you with a loss of energy to really enjoy the track, plus the bike also needs to be saved...such a long trip will affect the bike's health too.

It would be better if you transport your bike down to Coimby or Chennai and then hit the tracks from there. You could prolly ride back after the trackday if you want to.

Inder paaji, I am working today also...

so might not be able to put it up over the weekend. But will definitely get done with it over the next week.

i know what you mean

i had gone to goa in a car with 3 other friends

in the ghat section we played nfs-nfs

tight cornering with the CAR .. the rear did a drift quite a few times.

haven't seen any other twisty roads on which you can play nfs nfs :P
