Due to COVID-19 lock down we all riders were stuck home and it was quite impossible for me to go out for touring. Post the lock down period was over I was planning to go out for a weekend tour on my motorcycle.
On 4th of December (Friday) morning I woke up and had a thought to go out for a short trip with my wife somewhere, we two started discussing where to go. But the only condition is to go on our Bajaj Discover 150S. Initially we decided to go to Kamarpukur & Jayarambati (Birth place of Shree Ramakrishna Paramhansh & Maa Saroda). Then we thought I have two days off and I can go a little further. Then we decided to go to Bankura, Bishnupur & Purulia in West Bengal. Suddenly my wife told me to go to Puri, Odisha. And this is the only place where I have a soft corner for the love of lord Jagannath, hence I couldn't say no. So it was finalized to go to Puri on our Discover 150S. It was bit different for us to convince our parents about this trip after they came to know we are planning to ride to Puri from Kolkata (500kms.) with a pillion it will be more stressful. At around 8:00hrs. we managed to convince our parents about the trip. We started packing and at managed to start our ride at 11:00hrs.
We took our first stop at Kolaghat, and had our lunch at Belda at 14:30 hrs. We took half an hour break at Belda. Again we started our ride at 15:00 hrs. with few short tea and re-fill breaks at various places in Odisha. We reached Bhubaneswar at 20:30 hrs. it was late and quite cold and didn't took risk, hence decided to stay at Bhubaneswar and end our day.
Next day 5th of December, Saturday we started our ride to Puri at 08:00 hrs. We went to Raghurajpur village (Craft village) it's a beautiful small village with beautiful craftsmen. From their we rode to Puri and after checking in to our hotel freshened up we had our lunch and went to Konark.
It was 18:00 hrs. we came back to Puri and spent the evening at Puri beach.
I woke up early next day 6th of December, Sunday and went for a morning ride at Puri Marine Drive. At 8:00 hrs. we went to Shree Jagannath temple to offer our prayers and started our journey back to Kolkata at 09:00 hrs. we reached Kolkata at 21:00 hrs.
We went to Puri multiple times but this one was memorable.
