  • [Photo Feature]: R3 Rides

A detailed rewind about my biking history: I will try my best to write a shorter version.

I have such a decent history with motorcycling. I have ridden TVS 50, CBZ Xtreme, TVS Apache, Yamaha FZ 16, RE Classic 350 gunmetal.

With all my biking experience, I had started falling for Yamaha because of its refinement and quality. By the time I was planning for an upgrade to 300 CC, Yamaha R3 got released. Twice I almost confirmed the booking but due to some personal reasons, it had to cancel the purchase. I was so happy when the R3 was released again with ABS. I was going through all the user experiences in xbhp all along. I was totally in love and gone crazy about the R3. But again I had to buy RE classic 350 in 2018(the reason I cant be able to disclose). After riding it for almost 2 years, I have clearly felt that I am really not Bullet guy. So decided to buy R3. Got a good deal with one of my friend. He did not use it much and it was sitting idle. So went ahead and bought it.

I was so desperately planning for a short ride on ECR. I went and bought a new AGV helmet and all set for the ride. But then this climate in Chennai kept raining. I was restless totally.

And finally, the day has come....!

The plan is to reach Juhu beach at ECR for Sunrise, then visit shore temple at Mahabalipuram and then breakfast at our favourite restaurant Le Yogi.

    R3 - myself
    Jawa - Devesh
    Suresh - Bullet

We started off at 6 am from our home. it takes 20 minutes to reach Juhu beach. We reached there for sunrise. Since the climate was about to rain, it was all cloudy. So, unfortunately, the sun hasn't come out till 7 am. So we wanted to leave from there and ride to Mahabalipuram.

Note: Juhu beach is one of the cleanest beaches in Chennai ECR. It used to be less crowded. But now more are coming there for the post-wedding shoot.

So we started to Mahabalipuram. My very first long ride in my R3. It was one amazing experience as I was looking forward to this for such a long time. I have read all the blogs and experience of R3 riders where they mentioned the sweet spot is post 7 RPM. Well yeah, it was mind-blowing. That "dream come true" moment.

We have reached Mahabalipuram in 30 minutes. I have enjoyed the ride thoroughly. Then we checked in shote temple which is such a beautiful place. Then we spent some time there and reached the breakfast place at 10 AM. Le Yogi is one fine place for English breakfast. By the time we have done with our breakfast, it was super sunny. So we preferred to leave Mahabalipuram and reached our home back at 11.30. Please enjoy the pictures.

Since it is my first T-log, I have written ok-ish. I will try better next time with my next ride experience.

    Cheers
    Shiva

have sufficient to spread around. however in case you clearly have to watch for a person to bring you the sun and give you a great feeling, then you can have to wait a long timer
