It has been quite a long time since I visited a non-familiar place. Perhaps it was before my Marriage approx an year ago.
Well, visiting couple of villages in Spiti valley should not be considered as violation to above statement as that was in August which itself has been a long time. The plan was to visit Pangi valley, which would have been completely a new experience for me but uncertainty of leaves forced us to go for a weekend ride only. A complex permutation and combination resulted into the famous twin villages Dodra-Kwar.
I have been longing to visit the Twin Villages since I visited Chanshal first time in 2010. Second visit to Chanshal was with BikerZone group ride when Chanshal was not even open.
Friday-25May, 2013: Day1
Panchkula - Narkanda - Baagi - Rohru - Chanshal Pass - Dodra
Choosing a place to go was a time taking exercise because most of the places which were a weekend away were already done by both of us and were looking for something new, hence the exercise took quite some time and ended by 1AM, though I was able to wind up with the packing. As per plan we left Panchkula as early as 4AM after tanking up at my favorite station at BP sector 2, we just zoomed along NH-22. The ride was non happening except the cool breeze at Barog and getting advantage of a early bird to be able to cross Dhalli tunnel. The zig-zag fun started after Kufri and I was able to save almost an hour in our journey so far by reaching Narkanda by 8am. 4 hours uphill was not bad at all. after a long break of 1 hour at Negi uncle's dhaba, moved towards Baggi and then to Rohru. it took almost 2.5 hours to reach Rohru. The place was hot even beyond expectations, hence we moved ahead and had a stop at Chirgaon for lunch break. another half an hour break before we started our real journey towards the Chanshal pass. The roads ore acceptable till Tikkari only after that it is same as I found it some 3 years ago except few patches which have been even worse than before. First glimpse of snow patched Chanshal peaks have relieved a bit in the scorching heat. The jungle after Larote village which gave way to the bushes of flowers and green meadows with scattered tiny flowers. The sight was worth a watch but I was unaware of the road ahead and even more scenic meadows and surrounding.
Narkanda-Baagi Forest road. This road has a special in my heart, don't know why but always enjoy this stretch as if I am going through it for the first time.
Who is the tallest of them all, at Hatu Peak:
This is one exceptional bloom, never seen something like this.
On the way to Baagi-Rohru:
Door Knob at Rudra Dev Temple at village Pujarli Number Chaar (4)
This village is no 4 because there are 3 more Pujarli villages, one is Just Near the Kwar Village.
Devta:
Temple complex
Instructions:
Not a Good Shot

Thats the beauty of Rohru, A hazy day made it sure that I dont get even a single clear pic

Road to Tikkari
The Destination lies beyond those peaks:
This is just the start, perhaps the hint to make you aware what is in-store:
Fields, Orchard, Meadows and cattle, That Larote Village
The Peaks which called us 3 times:
The Valley: Green, Dense and wild.
Pit Stop for the machine and photo shoot for the rider
