So my first ride to chennai.

this arose cause of a reason, my exams had finished on the 6th and i was contemplating on what to do ... then my friend calls up in an emergency that he's arriving in chennai , to catch a flight for singapore to chennai , but he had lost the ticket.

however I did have the soft copy in my compy (pdf file) so i took a printout and well was going to go by train.

but then i thought that i should experience HOW these chennai guys at every g2g come and go so fast . called up Manoj Prabhakar (Blue P220)to inform i'd be coming to chennai and i'd be staying over the night at his place.

chennai is 445 kms from tumkur.

original plan was to leave tumkur at 4 am and reach chennai by 12 noon. however my lazy ass didnt wake up before 10, and i was awakened by Manoj's sms..

so i brushed, didnt eat anything. took the bag and went off by 11am.

Rip.rip.rip.rip kept the speedo at 110kmph continuously. while passing through hosur and electronic city was hell but i didnt stop anywhere.

went all the way(nonstop), Krishnagiri, Vaniambadi , Vellore, Chennai. reached chennai by 5:00 pm , the approach road to chennai for the last 20kms was HELL, slight rains +mud roads was a havoc.

so i stopped at a place wher M.G.R university was located, called up Manoj on where to meet up. He suggested to go down straight on the road and stop at a movie theater.

Then i waited at the theater. was getting bored since now i wasnt moving.. then after 10 mins I get blinded by some light flashing at me It was Manoj using the P220's flasher to signal me. so then we rode to his house and i dropped off my luggage. By the time we reached his house it was already 7pm.

so after that I called up my friend who told me to come at Besant Nagar beach. we (Manoj and me) went off and on the way we picked up Vignesh (Apache RTR), Vignesh came pillion since his bike was in service. Even he wore a helmet.

now Chennai i observed the police are lax and riders are rash . Many lidless heroes were there who got fired up seeing me in full gear even Manoj and Vignesh were a unsusal sight to see since NO damned pillion wears a helmet there (heh..)

so we reached chennai beach. the Traffic was okay, and the roads weren't confusing. not like bangalore where one way's , no u turns , etc etc can screw you . met up with my friends for a very short time (about half n hour) gave him the air ticket.

and then we rode back. Spent time with Manoj discussing bikes and then hooligans of chennai (saw some shitty mods on the way) had an excellent dinner made at his place. Took a bath and then off to sleep. I had forgetten that I had ridden 445kms non stop

So morning 7:30 I wake up, have breakfast and then we set off looking for an SBI atm and then a fuel bunk. did a tank up just below the filler neck of the tank. so then manoj told me the way to take. and we parted after greetings. it was (9:20 then)

well I and he were unaware that a political conference was taking place at koyembedu round about. so there was a roadblock and a traffic jam of 3-4 kms was there.

so i took a detour thru muddy roads , pathways bulit across a big drainage river. took me 2 hours to get out of chennai

so after reaching the NH , i then again ripped. 100-110 , it was slightly drizzing but no probs, the IRC gave superb grip and braking was decent in the rains as well.

Near vaniambadi what i saw was two new bikes(same bike i.e) being tested. went closer and saw the new Honda CSone (as its labelled on the fairing) being tested by factory chaps (pics will be uploaded in the honda thread) took out my nokia n91, clicked 3-4 pics, gave a thumbs up to the guys riding and zoomed off

went on and on till I was 50 Kms from Krishnagiri, one of my horns loosened and fell off the bike. the nut was gone so put the horn in the bag and then off.

reached hosur - electronics city - took the tumkur road and then finally took a break about 20kms from tumkur (opp to CCD , there's a dhaba) called up Manoj to inform him i was safe.

947kms total done in 24 hours. Not bad . Bike's fine, just slight oil leak from the lower end of the bore. no overheating , no probs. consumed 19 liters of fuel which is good enough too !

right now i feel i can do another 300kms ride not feeling tired.
