• Gigantic Gondeshwar - Weekend Trip

Another Sunday morning ..another ride .. Starts right on time and a meeting point just outside thane on the bhiwandi highway is fixed.. Well how cud things b so perfect... Myself and Abhilash lose our way and take a parallel road ... Struck with commotion we decide to meet up at a petrol pump around 26kms from Shahaapur...n then the ride continues to Gondeshwar Sinnar...first the curvy Kasara Ghats ... Then the FoG town of the state Igatpuri ... We tread on to Ghoti ..onto the Aurangabad highway...into Sinnar ...greeted by a small humble entrance of the town we follow our guide friend: Google Maps thru the small lanes..that open up on the other side of the town a dissolate structure ... Minds gushing wit emotions n guts telling us ... Let this not be a turn off like trimbakeshwar ...I shout : Its so damn remote .. I love it .. " ...m thinking " Its going to be a proper ruin wit no commercial takers for it : n that's The icing on the cake !!! " ... And spread out in front of us the Palatial Gondeshwar Temple ... With only a couple of kids studying in the serene and tranquil locale ... We start clicking away ... And thats what you see..If anyone wondering when this temple was built, the answer would be 1100AD by Hemadri Pandit - A Minister from Ahmed Nagar District.

sjegan : a nice find there mitra
had only read about gondeshwar but had never seen the fotos up-close.
seems to be an ill-maintained place as well - the dilapidated internals of a construction that so magnificent, is a bit sad to not.
great fotos tho
