Planned route
The accomplice
After much deliberation, the destination finally agreed upon was directionally perpendicular to what was planned a week ago. The excitement was at the peak as it was quite a long time (a month or so) we went on a bike trip.
The day was Saturday (12.10.2013) and I was in the office till late afternoon, courtesy my job in shifts; when all my pals where getting ready for the ride. It was the day when for the first time I was waiting at the punching machine for an 'Out punch' five minutes before the shift end time.
We left for Kauncha at 5PM from Surat and took to NH8 via Navsari. A mistake it was, which we realized when a cup of tea went down the throat and worked as stimulus at our first stop. The traffic in Navsari was heavy (actually it was much more than that, but I am not getting word to describe it) as it was the time when working people leave for home. The first stop was at the Jai Hind Dhaba, Chikhli, which is our stop for every trip. Just love the paranthas and tea at this place.
The room..may not look that big in pic, but believe me, it was huge.
another angle
Some pis will describe the place better.
morning view from our room
The guest house
The SHIKARA as my friend fondly calls it.
The Canteen
Master Chef cum waiter.
The next day morning we left at 09:00 but there was a twist in the tale. A part of our journey was through water. We had our bikes transported to the other end of the lake(Dudhani) in boat. Boat service is run by the government free of cost. This reduced our distance to one third or half may be.
The ride then was heaven...Maska roads, small ghats, twists n turns, greenery all around, repeated 'hool' given by the hens while riding through hamlets....untill we entered Maharashtra. No hard feelings, but we have had too many experiences of worst roads the point we enter Mah from Guj.
We reached Dabhosa at around 12noon and were wondering if theres any place to do the buffalo thing. (sit/immerse in water pool for an hour or so) as is our main agenda of every trip.
