Thank You! And as rxdude mentioned, it is a plastic "banana" leaf, but the simple local food is really interesting and we can still get food served on real banana leaves even now at many places

Thank You! Glad you enjoyed the Log. Two wheelers are allowed through Nagarahole (at least the stretch we went through) except a short period of the year (animal breeding season I think) when no vehicles are allowed through. At other times we have to stop at the check post and make entries in their register before proceeding. It pays to be real cautious though as the forest is quite thick and there is every chance of animal encounters.

Thanks for the info sir. That's different to what I've read though For e.g, the below links say otherwise. Have they changed it recently?

Nagarhole National Park

Nagarhole National Park
Bangalore to Mananthavady via Nagarhole | Everything about Bangalore !
I had checked the above link before my earlier ride too and I did have my doubts about two wheelers being allowed entry through Nagarahole, but this time we stopped at the gate and asked the forest guard if we could pass through, He waved us through after we made entries in his register. He did warn us to be careful and alert, ( it was just the 2 of us- wifey and me).
BTW, from Mysore we went through the H,D Kote route which passes near Kabini dam. The alternate route is via Hunsur.
