  • Devbhoomi Haridwar-

    Hello Everybody...

    Intro-
I m Tushar Tiwari, an Engineering student, studying on the outskirts of delhi...

Since i m not good at writing travelogues(this being my first) here,so please bear with pics and sloppy writing....
I wish i would have some better words for narration but nevertheless something is better than nothing.

I m sharing my trip which i undertook on 1st and 2nd march 2012 to haridwar with me and my friends on Bike and a Activa.

Decision- the decision was to have a night out in Delhi on bikes as we had college fest on that dates and had nothing to do after 8pm.

we thought of going for a long ride to Siliserh lake-Alwar which was about 200kms away.
this was ruled out because of nobody the exact way to that place and thus that was cancelled.
Then when we were having lunch,we all decided that nearest place to our college for long ride is
    DEVBHOOMI-HARIDWAR.
we were thinking that whether we would be able to make it or not considering we had 1 activa with us.
finally took the call that it is around 175 kms away from our clg and if we drive at a constant speed of 70km/h we would reach there in 3-3.5 hrs or so.
so started at around 5 from the place we had our lunch.
and continued on the NH-58 till meerut bypass.

After which the toll road begins and is a delight for travellers since the buses go via the city and the highway is only for cars and trucks.

we took our first stop at this place which read as 150 kms to haridwar.

i must say the four lane highway till muzzafarnagar is awesome and a delight to bikers.

we covered around 85kms in 1.5 hrs.
then had our tea stop just before muzzafarnagar.
after that the road is only 2 lane with no dividers so it was hell lot of a task for riding a bike that too at night with heavy traffic and all the overtaking was done quite slowly and cautioutisly and we reached roorkie at around 8.30 in the night.
had a stop there and then headed straight for haridwar before a problem struck us.
the activa of my friend had a flat rear tyre because of a nail which actually cut his tyre tube like hell..
and at around 9-9.30 in the night and no place for the tyre repair shop in sight we sure had our minds staying in the roadside dhaba before seeing a shop of truck tyre repair shop and he did what nobody cud have done, used the tube of the truck and sealed the big punctures which we were thinking were unreparable. and at night at 11:30 we reached the main entrance of haridwar with mata ganga's cold water welcoming us and the cold wind which blew made us shiver...

Now let me put the pics for the ride....

      Re: Devbhoomi Haridwar-

Now after reaching the hotel room at around 12 in the night me and my frnds had our shore of fun with switching on the television with retro songs and playing bluff till 2 am in the night after which we had our alarms set in our mobiles to get up in the morning and head straight toward the ganga arti in the morning.
we were up at 5:45-6 in the morning, and after leaving our hotel which was just beside har-ki-paudi we were facing chilly winds and in no mood to take a dip in the holy water, the arti then started at around 6:45 in the morning only after sunrise.
after watching the morning arti we went straight away to fill our stomach with the chole poori which was yummy...
then my frnds had a dip in the holy water of the ganges and washed their sins atleast i felt that why were they making the holy water of the ganges dirty with their sins.. hehehe...and then we headed to the chanda devi mata mandir on the top of the mountain..
and the view of the whole ganges from en-route to the top was awesome...

After coming back from the mandir, started at around 10 in the morning and reached clg at 1pm and headed back to our respected houses as we were really tired and thought of not attending the day in clg fest..

Now the whole set of pictures....
Do comment how you all liked the pics...

In the end it was just a memorable trip without any proper planning and the enjoyment levels were very high....
