  • BBSR-Gopalpur and back on Republic day-365 kms

    Hi Friends,

My second trip within 15 days. When most of my colleagues were enjoying their vacation during the 26th January weekend, i was forced to keep myself busy at my office.Saturday and Sunday morning went by in no time and i went to watch Raaz on Sunday night. Came out of the hall with utter disgust, and while i was headed towards my home, already a glimpse of a trip had occupied my mind. I started to call up at 12.30am in the night if any one is willing to accompany. And ultimately after a lot of failed attempts found that one of my colleague was very much ready to hop on with me.

So as usual woke up at 6.15 am even after 6 alarm rings and finally was on the road by 6.40am. And what happened then was a perfect ride to enjoy on a holiday.

Will try to come up with the trip log and more snaps in the night.

            Road after BBSR
81 Kms after BBSR Lane Merging starts
and Point is 9 Kms before Balugaon
And the road from there on to Ichapuram is bad.

there are many diversions enroute, Around Rambha road improves slightly. (Thats where one could get the best view of the road, Chilka besides the GQ, and a small Ghat)

Looking forward to the ride report and beach shots.

[OT] I love the Balugaon-Barkul segment of the NH-5; we have railway crossings coming as part of the (unconstructed) GQ.

Praful, i was in Bangalore for 10 yrs before coming here for personal reasons, otherwise who wants to leave that awesome city. Anyways that lid is bought from Balaji Helmets in Lalbagh. I know them since 2001.Was in Bangalore during Christmas.

Bagchi, u r correct about the roads, after Chilka the road is still bad and my ZMA's suspension could not handle those pot holes.

                Trip log on the way.........

I just happened to be in Gopalpur on the very same day.
but only for an hour was totally disappointed with the view at Gopalpur.

The beach at Gopalpur is diminishing as sea waves continue to breach in to the shores. Some serious investigations/analysis is undergoing in Puri/Konark/Gopalpur!!

If immediate action is not taken then all the beaches will be completely washed out in couple of years!!
