9/12/2021 : I rode to and fro Javvadhu Hills from my Chennai home [431 km]. I left 4:30 am and returned home at 3:37 pm. I took the route Chennai>Chengalpet>Uttiramerur>Vandavasi>Polur>Jam una marathoor>Vellore>Chennai. I maintained steady 60-70 kmph as specified in the owner's manual for running in. Most of the times, ECO mode was displayed on the instrument panel. Tankful to tankful fuel efficiency is 38.67 kmpl.
My Alpinestars gloves, Dowco Fastrax magnetic tank bag and Royal Enfield Touring Boots also had breaking in along with my Classic 350!

Chennai>Tharangampadi Danish Fort>Chennai . 527 km . 14 hours . 37.35 kmpl
24 February 2022 [Thursday] : My first long ride in 2022. My second long ride on my all-new Classic 350. I had visited this fort in 2004. At that time, there was no museum in the fort. So, decided to explore it once again.
Left Chennai Royapettah home at 4:20 am, took the East Coast Road [ECR]. My first halt was at Puducherry [Pondy] at Hotel Arya Bhavan for breakfast at 7:00 am. Then, followed the ECR via Cuddalore>Chidambaram>Seerkazhi>Thirukkadayur and reached the Danish Fort at Tharangampadi at 9:50 am. The road from Cuddalore to Chidambaram was not good. Road-widening works were in full swing at many stretches.
The ancient Danish Fort was built in 1620. For details, please visit : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_Dansborg
Tharangampadi beach was enriched with ozone, it seems as mentioned here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tharangambadi
I spent about 3 hours, visiting the fort, museum and the beach, clicking photographs and recording videos.
At 12:45 pm, I started my return journey to home. Stopped at the same Hotel Arya Bhavan, Pondy for a late lunch of mini meals, washed down by a couple of Madras panneer goli soda. I left Pondy at 3:30 pm and reached home, sweet home at 6:20 pm. My Classic 350 consumed 14.11 litres of petrol for 527 km, translating into 37.35 kmpl.
Overall, a day well-spent for me and my Classic 350.

Chennai>Kolli Malai>Chennai in 19 hours
On 30 May 2023 [Wednesday], I took my Classic 350 to Kolli Malai and back. Left Chennai Royapettah home at 4:17 am, rode on the 70+ hairpin bends of Kolli Malai and arrived at Valvil Ori's statue at 1:15pm. Spent some time at Seekuparai view point, bought some home-made chocolates and left for home by 2 pm and arrived home by 11:30 pm after wading through numerous traffic jams, while entering Chennai. The fuel efficiency recorded was 37 kmpl by tanful-to-tankful method.
Today [2 June 2023], took my bike to Royal Enfield company service station at OMR, Chennai for the fourth free service scheduled at 18 months.

Also read this unique Leh Itinerary:
Most travelers stick to the classic Manali-Leh Highway, but this offbeat Ladakh Motorcycle trip itinerary that takes 8-day will take you through remote valleys, high-altitude lakes, and untouched villages that few dare to explore. Perfect for adventurers seeking solitude and raw beauty! Day 1: Manali → Chikka (Hidden Start)- Skip the usual Rohtang rush and take the untouched Chikka route via Shuru Valley.
- Camp near Rahala Falls (secret spot: a quiet meadow 1 km before the main falls).
- Detour to Gemur Lake (near Sissu), a stunning, rarely visited glacial lake.
- Camp at Tandi (last fuel stop) by the Chandra River—locals know a quiet riverside spot.
- Instead of Keylong, head towards Darcha and take the old shepherd trail towards Shinkun La.
- Wild camp at 4,800m with surreal views of untouched peaks.
- Cross Shinkun La (5,090m), one of the least traversed passes.
- Descend to Purne, gateway to the Phuktal Monastery trek (worth a detour if time allows).
- Camp near the Tsarap River—locals can guide you to hidden sandy banks.
- Instead of heading straight to Leh, take the secret road via Lugnak Valley to Tso Moriri.
- Camp at Korzok Village by the lake—permit needed, but the solitude is unmatched.
- Drive to Tsokar Lake, a saltwater wonder with wild kiangs (Tibetan wild ass).
- Reach Hanle, home to India’s darkest skies—camp near the Hanle Observatory.
- Take the restricted Nyoma-Mahe road (permits required) along the Indus.
- Camp near Fukche, one of the world’s highest airstrips.
- Drive through Hemis National Park, spotting snow leopards if lucky.
- Arrive in Leh via Upshi, avoiding the usual route.
I look best when I take my helmet off, I have a glow on my face and a bit of helmet hair ;)
