Picture breaks were now taken in plenty and by the time we reached Maddur, we were sure that reaching Ooty in daylight is not possible. A quick fuel break was taken and we were off towards Mysore. Soon riding on this road was a scary experience. Speed breakers on highways you will possibly find only in India. As you would be cruising at 80km/hr suddenly you will have to drop anchors as there is a set of dividers ahead of you. Lucky few are able to clear this test safely, while not so lucky ones end up tailgating. En-route we saw plenty of unlucky vehicles parked next to speed breakers as a result of tailgating.
As sun started to get lower and lower, we got onto Mysore bypass to reach Ooty road. Stomach had gone empty once again, so on bypass we stopped for some quick munchies and tea, wanted to make sure if we are served on platter to forest animals ahead, they should not complain. Alok here spotted big green chilies getting made into pakoras, we ordered one serving initially but then ended up eating a few of them.
Once we crossed Mysore, we were on wide two lane road with plenty of traffic to take care off, thanks to a long weekend. Even before we could reach Bandipur sun had called it a day so we captured that moment and got back on road.

With Leg 1 out of way, (there we go Mithun) some teasers from the other two legs.

Picturesque lake of Ooty, I have a soft corner for this lake as some of my favourite Bollywood numbers are pictured right in this lake.

We were few km's short of Munnar when sky @ Dusk started to change its color. One of the zillions of shots clicked, trying to capture the best.

XP Wallpaper, anyone? Clicked @ Munnar.

After clicking to our satisfaction we resumed our descent from Ooty and en-route my bike hit an all 4 mark on odometer.

That's the association of just over 5years. A duration in which we both have travelled to various part of this beautiful country.
Captured the moment as we were descending down Ooty.
The road down Ooty on this side is in good condition and we came down at a good pace, enjoying each of the delicious curves to its max. As we hit plains crossing the town of Mettupalayam was a bit of pain due to heavy traffic through narrow roads. Once we crossed it, almost empty flat roads full of curves awaited us. What a feast it was, riding through that awesome stretch of tarmac.

Stretch between Ooty & Munnar, full of twisties.
At Annur we were to turn towards Coimbatore when the GPS came in handy and showed us an alternate route that would help us avoid travelling via Coimbatore. So, we headed towards Avanashi and then towards Palladam. The stretch was another good one. En-route we passed many wind mill farms and a lot of breaks were taken to click pictures.

By the time we reached Palladam, heat was unbearable so we pulled over to sip in some cold drinks and water. After a 20min break we decided to ride non-stop, all the way to Munnar, with occasional photography breaks.
After crossing Udumalaippettai we were heading towards Chinnar Wildlife Santuary. By now Sun has started to come down and heat was reducing as well. Once we entered the Wildlife Santuary, road became narrow and bumpy.

After a long gradual climb we got to smell tea all around us. As the light was falling rapidly we pulled over and clicked as many pictures as we could in the dim light.
