  • Photo Feature: Ride to Hesaraghatta Grasslands

Hesaraghatta Grasslands, supposed to be the last surviving Grasslands of Bangalore. Last week I had drove to Bangalore with few friends. I had talked to xBhpians from Kerala there about my arrival and we had planned for a ride to Hesaraghatta Grasslands. I had seen the place in photos earlier but what I found there for our Sunday Safari (ride) was breath-taking. Acres of grassland ours to explore. Sharing some photos from the Safari.

Breathtaking pictures i must say , but a little sad to see the grasslands losing its beauty day by day. By the way, you should try the Jayamangali Blackbuck Reserve sometime to have the grassland experience which Hessaraghatta had couple of years ago .

The place is much more awesome than in the photos. We were not actually able to explore the whole place. Heard there is a lake nearby as well but we missed it. Next Time!!!

              i followed the below route:

i strongly suggest you start from Bangalore in the night so that you reach at the reserve early morning, lets say around 06:30 AM (that is the time when the blackbucks come out to do all the nuisance ) and you could click some good pictures.

Superb pics. I had cycled till there in last November. There was a lot water in the reservoir. I can't see any water in the pics. May be dried up early due to summer.

Re: Photo Feature: Ride to Hesaraghatta Grasslands

We went recently to Hesaraghatta during January. Although weather was bit hot during the day, it was filled with fog in the early morning. recommend to visit during early morning.
Here is the video documentary we made during our ride.
