    The FEB Ride 2014 : Blr - Murudeshwar - GOA - Dandeli

As with every year , this year also Me,Shiva and Remo decided for Feb Ride [Ride which happens every February ], and this time we decided to Ride all way to GOA.
as none of us very much aware of GOA and visited barely once , we found this idea good to explore the place. we set ourselves 4 days for this Ride.
    Day 1

We started on the Morning 5AM from Bangalore and decided to meetup on Tumkur - Nice road junction. soon me and Remo met with Shiva near the junction and decided to ride towards Mangalore and from there head to Murudeshwar for Day 1 halt. [ our original plan was to directly head GOA ]

We started our ride and Stopped for Breakfast near bellur cross on Hassan road, from there it was almost constant ride till Mangalore , except some 40 km the entire stretch has good roads.

We stopped for Lunch near Mangalore and soon started the ride towards Murudeshwar. we took break near Maravante beach  and later reached Murudeshwar. we got a good hotel very near to Beach/Temple and after taking rest in the room we decided to explore the surround temple and beach.

The Murudeshwar is famous for Shiva Temple on the beach which is beautiful and a tourist destination. after spending a good time near the beach and around Temple, we finished our Dinner in near by hotel before crashing to bed.

    Day 2

We woke up early and started our ride , our destination was Baga beach, our ride was slow all the way and decided to cover couple of new places around GOA. our first stop decided was Vasco [Vasco-da-Gama]. so we headed towards that, and due to mixed state of road conditions it took more than calculated time to reach near Vasco. We decided to visit Naval Aviation Museum which is located some 6km before Vasco town.

The Museum was decent and there are many aircraft and helicopters
which are used in Navy and also in the indoor part there are many
interesting stories and mockup of the ships.
    we spent 2 hours
there and went to nearby beach for lunch. it was very hot day with
temperature exceeding above 38 degrees. we took plenty of rest before we
    started towards Vasco town.

Vasco Town is mid sized port city with lot of beaches and a big port, we headed towards the famous port and after reaching all way down to port entrance we headed back to Panaji.

The route to Panaji was decent but with lot of traffic and after reaching Panaji we realized that its as hectic traffic as any other big city. so decided not to waste our time searching a stay in Panaji and directly headed towards Baga beach. we reached Baga beach around 8PM and eventhough its February  there are lot of tourists and the entire beach is crowded.

Finally we are able to get a good accommodation very near to beach and it was time for relax and enjoy in the beach. after getting refresh we headed for beach and had nice Dinner in the beach shacks and a long walk on the beach. we came back to our hotel after midnight and had sound sleep.

    Day 3<

Today we decided to visit Baga beach and later Old GOA and stay somewhere near to place which is on the way to Bangalore so that we can ride less on last day.

So we started the ride towards Old GOA and the entire stretch was good , riding around small passages in the city was fun and Old town was delight to see. we reached famous saint marry church and after having Lunch in Govt Guest house. we visited the church , it was very well maintained and is a big tourist place, the inside of the church was well maintained and there are many exhibition gallerias.

After finishing our site seeing , we suddenly decided to stay in Dandeli. So i have called a guest house to finalize the stay and this place is called Kadu Mane, which means Forest house and as true to its name it is present some what deep in the forest and i have visited this place once already i knew others also going to like it.

we started our journey from Old GOA and all the way the road condition was superb and it was fun to ride on those roads, once we entered the Dandeli forest range suddenly the roads were bad to worse and it slowed us down very much. Riding last 50km became hell with lot of pathholes and worst roads. Finally we reached the Forest house and after getting fresh we spent most of the time chatting around campfire and with nice food.

    Day 4>

We woke up around 7AM and today there was no hurry after getting up we all three went for a small trek to near by small hill in the forest and we were guided by a kid who is close relative to this home stay owner. the trek was only 2.5km but during morning time its worth to walk here as there are many species of birds and animal were spotted regularly.

Once back from walk/trek we took herbal bath which the home stay ppl prepared for us [all the hebal leafs and roots boiled in to water] and we started back to bangalore by 10AM.
The entire route from Dandeli to Bangalore was very good and roads condition is great. we met another group who are also returning from Gokarna on the way.
Finally we reached Bangalore by 6PM - 7PM in the evening .

    Another Great Ride finally completed

          nice! going thru the text.

i made the mistake of leaving goa at 2pm in the afternoon when i rode down from Goa to New Bombay earlier this month.
what followed was the craziest night riding i have ever encountered. :-O
reached new bombay at 3AM. will never try it again.

Great travelogue. The pics were a pleasure to the eyes
BTW, did you not encounter any sort of back pain on the GT for riding it that long? Some tips on how you manage that aggressive riding position would be helpful. Some more report on how the bike performed in the trip and various +ves and -ves will be appreciated as there's not much info about the GT250R on the Indian sites.

i didn;t face any issues with bike till now , and it never stranded anytime, i migrated from R15 so riding position i like it, moreover i hit gym daily , highway rides are more fun with bike, very stable and cornering is good. Check my other thread on this xbhp last year i did kanyakumari http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/tourer/2...-memories.html i did 650+ km in single stretch , bike did well.
