  • [Photo Feature]: Yamaha RX135 Ride/Trek Nag Tibba

Finally this tuesday night i broke free from the usual working weekdays. And thus decided to hit the mountains and the very wilderness i wish to. Tuesday night i decided to hit Nag Tibba aka The Serpent's Peak. @9515ft its the highest peak of the Shiwaliks.

Ill keep the travelogue brief....and it starts with wednesday morning.
I woke up at 4am. Packed all the neccessary stuff i needed for the trek.

My RX was ready too for the deal.

    Day 1 :

I set off Wednesday morning 5am to Nagtibba. Rode 85kms to a village named Pantwari.

    Route: Dehradun--mussorie--kenptyfalls--yamuna bridge--Nainbagh--pantwari.

Pantwari is a very small village. A trail to right takes one to Nag Tibba. 5-6kms of this trail is probably the best trail ive ridden on. Indeed a boon for off road freaks. I was on the pegs piercing though it. Speed trailng on mountains at 9500ft was surreal and heart pumping.

    At mussorie

Trail from Pantwari To Nag Tibba

I reached the Nag Tibba base by 1:00am. I got late due to a puncture and buying some necessary food for the night.
Parked my vehicle nearby a hut and i started climbing the hill. It was a sepherd's trail...very rocky and a lil steep. Climbing wasnt easy. Water is a thing there hard to find. I had a one litre bottle with me. I climbed an odd 1-1.5kms and i found a water source...consequently had my thirst satisfied and bottle refilled.

Further climbing for 3 hours i reached at a certain top...and tired i decided to plant the tent there itself.
The view around was surreal. Its was 5pm evening already. Tent was set up food was ready. And i was at 9500ft chilling with snow capped mountain peaks
    Setting sun from the campsite

It was night and cold and i lit uo the fire. I had gathered the firewood for the whole night and set uo the fire and sat beside it till 11pm and i then set off to sleep.

The day ended with lots of physical toll...thrilling off roads and beautiful scenic nature. Btw I own a Duke200 but My RX has been a dear to me....and i rely more on my RX and the 100km run was easy on it and full of fun.

The best part was the hill top i reached post climbing...I planted my tent, lit up the fire and gazed into the horizon with nothing absolutely nothing in my head. And that was free....those moments are a hypnotic diversion i crave for and this craving is what will make me to make a run for it every single time. I could see the distant storm and thundering clouds...the peaks i could see from over the back of my head were snow laden. ..and it just started about to drizzle a little. I crawled into ny tent with my head out still gazing the valley beneath and admiring the surrealness there. With all the nothingness, in the heart of that moment was eternity. I could clearly live that moment again typing this!

Wonderful mate! I can sense the serenity you must've experienced, and the presence of Rx made it even more glorious.

Thanks pal...all i had was my Samsung Galaxy Y for the pics. And no camera does justice to the location and its surrealness. The whole real thing is always so different. And DSLRs and heavy cam euipments are best left behind to such a trip....where one can stay free unconcealed...

          Day 2:

Next morning it was then. The sleep wasnt that good. All the thermals and liners couldnt hold back the frosty wind blows...thus the whole sleep was pretty interrupted. So now i woke up morning around 5:30-6:00am.
The fire went all night and the left over coals were enough to lit it back. Morning is the time when temperature is the least.
Fire was lit and time was for the nature call into the bushes.

          Morning view

View straight out of my tent's entrance

Couple of hours later and the sun was out pretty good. Mellow sunlight on my face and by then i had cooked myself some maggie(not very chef-ly). And gazing into the landscape i enjoyed it (can be a pretty good meri-maggi story!)

Then was visible the Bandarpunch Glacier Range (the source of river Yamuna and Tons)

Packed back my essentials now. And i had to hike back down to my vehicle.

Took me half and hour to come down. Back on the saddle...exihilerated to hit the same trail i came from again..i wheelspined and i set off. With 100+kms back to home all mountain curves and single lane roads. It was again a new start.

The ride/trek/adventure ended on a superb note. All what i learnt was to leave all the un-necessary behind. To let, that, which doesnot matter..Truly slide.
To be very true....pitch dark at night inside a tent ona chilled hill top with jungle around alone isnt a good feeling...its fearsome its shitty ...late night its weird. I still remember me missing my bed my room at the hill top where the only thing i could hear was the tent flapping along with the strong wind as if it was about to be uprooted....and inside i cuddled round with my all clothes thermals and shoes on fighting the cold...unexpected and unplanned as i was.

But on the brighter side i had a great experience. I got myself in some weird times where i regretted my decision to stay overnight for a while...but i i slept through it and then as always morning was there.

Travelogues are mere expression of one's travel...the real thing cant be encapsulated in logs and books. So instead of pulling in SLR pics and long writeups i decided to keep my log short.

Let not your fingers get toiled with excessive work that you are unable to pluck the finer fruits of life. So...go out, get big, get real. And if you need to know how the world works, it better to see that in person..
