There are lot of places to see in Aurangabad, and was planning to visit. Finally on 14-15-16th March, i was able to do it with my wife. The Plan was to leave early morning on 14th March and reach Aurangabad by afternoon, place luggage in hotel and visit Daulatabad Fort. Next day leave inmorning for Bibi-ka-Maqbara and then visit Ellora Caves, come back to hotel, pick up luggage and leave for Ajanta Caves as it is 100 kms from Aurangabad and stay in a hotel close to Ajanta Caves. Next Day early morning leave for Ajanta Caves. Private Vehicles were not allowed beyond a point, from there we have to take govt. buses. return back to hotel by afternoon. have lunch and leave for pune.

The trip went exactly as planned, we had pre-booked all the hotels.

Only thing is if you want to see all the caves at Ajanta & Ellora properly, you need one complete day for each.

We couldn't cover other places in Aurangabad like Pan-chakki, Aurangabad Caves, Pitalkhora Caves etc, will cover those some other time.

Daulatabad Fort is a very nice and Formidable Fort and considered as undefeatable, with several layers of walls and a water trench seperating the main inside fort.
Bibi-Ka-Maqbara is also very good and nice place.
Ajanta & Ellora Caves is a must visit, the only difference bwtween Ajanta & Ellora is that Ellora only has sculptures whereas Ajanta Caves also has magnificent paintings as well.

Anybody planning to visit these caves please note that a torch is must, as some caves are very dark inside and camera flash is not allowed in Ajanta Caves. Also at some caves you have toremove footwear as these are temples.
