        Re: A Pre monsoon Kodachadri

        Day 3: Around Kodachadri
Today was the fun day for which we had ridden 750kms from home. After two round of coffee and about Seven (or may be even eight) dosas we start for the climb. The initial 4 5 kms is a Bikes delight. Post that it’s a rider’s delight.

For those visiting for the First time to Kodachadri:
        1. Ride up the hill if you are sure of a flexible backbone and a hip bone, the terrain is treacherous. If it rains its become Worse/ more enjoyable.
        2. Please give way for vehicle climbing up.
        3. Honk around the corners as there will be very less space for 2 vehicle to pass though, also brakes are not effective in the terrain you may have to gift yourself enough braking distance.
        4. Most importantly “PLEASE DO NOT LITTER” Don’t make it one more ooty. Enjoy the beauty of the place, make sure people coming after you also do the same.
Once the trail starts, theres no looking back. Fortunately it had rained about a week or 10 days back, so were gifted with some greenery around. Reached the Top and started the trek to Sarvagnapeetha. Sadly the entire place was nothing but a white blanket in the background.
Took whichever trails we felt like, not many tourists either to disturb you. Will let the Pics do the talking:

        While climbing up Sarvagnapeetha

There is a valley behind the tree

        Every Trail is yours

        One donkey with 2 gazelles

        Foggy uphill climb

        Curious onlookers

Probably the only pic with all the tree of us in the frame

        Love this Pic

        A much needed cool-off session

        Poser-giri

After few hours of roaming around decide to get down to start for the backwaters for Sunset. Fortunately have always been gifted with awesome views of sunset by the backwaters with some spectacular cloud patterns by the waters edge.

Ananth wanted to have some tea, so told him that we will have at the ferry place as I remember a shop being there the last time I was around. Unfortunately the shop was shut, so decided to take the ferry and get to the other side of the backwaters for the same. As there were a lot of vehicle to be mounted on the ferry, we ditched the plan and decided to spend some time on the riverbed for Sunset.

        Dried up reservoir bed

        Day 4: Sampekatte-Shimoga-Kemmangundi-Chikmagalur-Bangalore
The best part about riding with somebody who actually likes to ride is they don’t ask you thing as to where to go next, there are game for every dam thing. First addition was Tyavarekoppa Lion and Tiger safari. This brought a huge smile on Kartik’s face, as this was his so called” First wildlife sighting”

        The homestay

        Few Pics from Nagara Fort

        Few Pics from Tyavarekoppa

        Meet Mr.Luv

        Angry bird OEM edition

        Elegence Leopardified

There was still scope for some drama left so thought of taking the Kemmangundi route, since it had been a looong time since we had done that route. Sadly the road to Bababudangiri/Dattapeetha was closed as they are laying cement roads. Going by the progress, the access is very unlikely that it will not be opened till the end of monsoons. So went ahead to Mullayyanagiri and then eventually to Bangalore.

Kartik decided to halt at Bangalore where as Ananth decided to push till Chennai the same day.
