Re: Mana, one lifetime experience...

So we spent 2nd day at Mana roomed around, before starting the to Mana and weeks ago I was so confused about the Mana & Mana pass so here is the answer of all your confusion, we spoken to a army person there in army base at Mana, he explained us the Mana pass is a place where only army is allowed to go which is the highest motorable road as Leh made by and maintained for army activities which is still some 60 kms away from here (Mana) where Indian and Chinese army do patrolling, Even one cant go that full 60 kms by any vehicle, some 40 kms can be done by a vehicle and rest one have to trek in heavy ice, for that you need two permissions one from ITBP & another from DM/SDM of Josimath and they do not grant permissions to almost anyone without any reason, until you have very, very strong hand in higher govt. authority.

We got a nice room with a awesome view from our window in Badrinath, we slept around 6PM and decide to go to Badrinath temple & tapt kund next day and will start riding back early morning.

We had a bath in Tapt Kund, it was basically a natural hot water source near the temple which has lots of religions believes and it was very-very hot.

We woke at around 4 AM and took some beautiful shots, those mountains looking superb in the morning, we started our returning journey at around 8 AM from Mana...

As we have almost a day time in hand we decided to do rafting in Rishikesh and started riding accordingly, at around 7pm we reached Rishikesh and holy shit we covered all hills in one day almost 300kms and there was some still some juice left in our body, I must say we could came back to Delhi same night, if we started little early in the morning, so we found a nice hotel room in Rishikesh, next day rafting became a project for us as it was Saturday and weekend time all everything was booked already specially by Delhites we wasted half day for searching space for two for rafting at around 1:30 we finally found two vacancies for us and done that, as I was doing it for the fisrt time I was little worried about it, we started from Shivpuri it was around 16 kms in the river with three roller coasters and two times we got chance to jump from the boat into the river and man what a experience that was, it was felling more special when you already have done it some 800 kms on your bike, when chilled water touches your body joints , finally we completed that and started riding at around 5:30 pm to Delhi by the time with horrible traffic on before Roorkie we some how managed to complete the worst stretch before 8pm, had dinner somewhere and reached Delhi at around 11pm.....

Day 2 started with some awesome view from the room, we woke up around 7AM (sorry I forgot to take the pics there), we had breakfast there (mixture of Samosas, chole & curd), roomed around the beautiful city and then started for Mana at around 9AM, it was still some 130kms from Karanprayag.....

By the time we was counting every km the roads was in good condition, we was maintaining 40-50 kms/hr speed while I touched my foot pegs many times though the corners , though my bike tyre was not supporting me much, in that case Ashish had lots of fun with his Fazer, took some pics just before the joshimath...

We researched already pretty much about the route and other details, we reached Joshimath at around 12 and we have to tanked full there as there is no petrol bunk after that, after the Joshimath there so much down hill as we are going to inside the earth, distance of Mana was around 40 kms from Joshimath, we completed that downhill and took some pics...

That patch of around 15 kms was so pathetic rocky uphill, I never ridden such kind of road in my life previously, it was a great experience for me to handle the bike in such condition, it took us around two hours to complete this stretch and we finally reached to heaven our destination Mana...

Come on bring on the rest of the logs as this is what gives peace to the mind. Far from the maddening crowd and in complete tranquility. Some of the simple pleasures of life that we miss in our quest for making money. Bring along some day i plan to visit Rishikesh and haridwar on bike. Have gone to Haridwar and rishikesh in 2004 but not on bike. Will do it on bike some day. For now will treat the soul with your pictures.

    Re: Mana, one lifetime experience...

This was a unexplored route for me, I always wanted to go to Mana once, actually this trip was the outcome of lots of frustration of office daily work and hassle of every day life, from a long back time I was planning for a trip, prior to this two of the trips canclled due to friends personal reason, this time I decided to do solo, but I got a biker buddy Ashish Sahay convince and was same excited to do this route, so we decided the route and dates and thought a solid reason to get the leaves from office, we had five days in hand, four for ride and one spare if required, ok, lets pics do talking now.....

We decided to reach at least Karanprag in day 1, Our First photo stop, as we started in the morning 5AM from Delhi there was not much traffic on the Delhi-Haridwar route, so we managed to cross Rishikesh at around 11AM, its almost 220kms from Delhi....

We took lunch break at Devprayag around 50 kms from Rishikesh and moved to our Day-1 destination to Karanprayag, by the time we crossed mini Shrinagar at around 3:30pm and found a Tihari DAM...
