Awesome narration - concise & crisp, and analytical too! Congrats on completing the trip successfully. I am definitely looking forward to the return leg.

BTW, if I recollect, you still haven't mentioned the cause of your run; 'guess 'am askin' too much (Congrats in here too)

          Nice travelogue mate

I'm from gkp too. Those 17KMs at GIDA area are extremely dangerous. Poor and narrow roads with lack of traffic sense in people; i see atleast 1 road accident every week there.

Yes @hgps, that is the GIDA stretch I am talking about. However, I bypassed this stretch on the return journey by taking a left from the 'Nausad Tiraha'. That left turn will meet the Gorakhpur Bypass after few kilometers.

If you ask me, I'd say that rather than the hassle-free rides, this kind of ride gives the essence of real India. Outside the metros and big cities, this is how people live. Thogh it was very irritating and risky at times, I think you encountered the challenges very well!
Thanks Krishna..!! I completely agree with you.!!

Reasons for the journey and preparation:
Parimal Maheshwarith June, Wednesday. You have already read the log from Mumbai to Gorakhpur, haven’t you? If not, then please click here to read.

After riding for 29hrs I made it to my hometown and boy!! I was so much excited to ride in the city on the Ninja and I was revving the engine while pressing the clutch and she was screammmmiiinnng. The screaming exhaust sound made the rickshaw wala, auto wala, pedestrians disperse and they moved aside immediately….LOL, naughty me, not the America…!!!

            Those happy moments in Gorakhpur.

Translation: Oh God, It feels as if I am sitting on the top of a mountain. This is uncomfortable :@.), I was like . Later that day, I updated my Facebook relationship status: “Engaged to Kalpana” for obvious reasons..

On the last day of my stay, I wanted to get the bike checked but there is no Kawasaki service center in Gorakhpur, however there are a couple of Yamaha’s and Honda’s. I went to a Honda service center and asked for any mechanic for Honda CBR250 so that at least he can perform a minor checkup on the bike. The service guys were amazed to see an MH registered Ninja and they were willing to help, well definitely off the records. But to my unfortunate luck, their mechanic was out of town for some training. I headed to another Honda service center but same was the case with them too.

“Don’t worry, I can myself check my bike”, I said to myself. I thoroughly inspected the bike for any leakage, oil and coolant requirements, electrical etc. Everything was fine and OK. The bike was ready to roll and it was willing to take more.

I packed my bag, had dinner and slept for the night hoping to wake up at 4 in the morning but there is this cozy feeling at home that I cannot resist. I woke up at 7.

Re: The Ninja rides to Gorakhpur and back.

One thing I would definitely agree to is the lack of road sense in UP and Bihar (my Case).
I was coming from Patna to Muzaffarpur and I saw bikes, cars, tractors everything on the left most lane going other side.
It's pretty hard to drive a bike under such conditions.
And I swear to god, I have seen cows and buffaloes tied to the divider in such a way that they had to stand in the leftmost lane to graze properly :P .

That stretch is now butter smooth but traffic sense of people driving over it, is still same. Went through same road 2 months back.
