  • [Photo Feature]: Curves of kerala!!!

    Search for best roads to ride upon in south India began when we got our hands on baby-blade.My childhood buddy my fellow rider and I were gazing on the travelogue of other riders on the site, just because we could not take the twins
    out because we are not done with the first service.
    We were waiting for the right moment, well it was not far.
    First thing we decided was not to repeat the same road on the ride, hence we agreed upon a roundtrip.
    We came upon the perfect route which we had a penchant for.
    Coimbatore--> Valparai-->forever famous valachal forest--> challakudy-->Thrissur-->palakkad-->Coimbatore

    We decided to have breakfast even though we gobbled some before we began. We began to ride and decided to stop in valparai as it will be perfect place to start clicking some frozen memories.

    Valparai is located above 3,500 feet from the sea level with 40 hairpin bends on the Anamalai mountain range. We reached valparia after 104-kms ride from home. En route is the Anamalai Tiger Reserve Sanctuary we were lucky enough to spot the lion-tailed macaque and the common langur.

    Let me tell you about the weather which made this ride more fun and also kept us out of lassitude.
    There was no sign of sun from the beginning of the ghat section.
    We were greeted by rain about 20kms from valparai. this road is surrounded by tea and cashew plantation with gorgeous streams on both side of the road.

    Well, he was right, we rode through some of the unexplored roads and remote villages in Kerala, which lead to this huge construction, the Sholayar dam, the second deepest dam in Asia. We crossed the dam via a small bridge over the channel in front of the it. Water was flowing out from the partially open shutter, which was channeled to Parambkulam dam. There were a lot of visitors to watch the beauty of this dam. The backwater of the Sholayar Dam was bounded by steep hills of tea plantations.
