  • Adventure Trip to Sethumadai!

    Hey guys,

Since this is a tourer section i thought it would be a good introduction to a tour which i am organising. I am a avid biker myself and i do quiet a good number of trips on my Yamaha RX100 (though its very very tiring).

I have posted an intro in the 'Who are you' thread. Click here to see my details.

As i mentioned above i am organising an adventure trip to Sethumadai located at the foot of Aanamalai Hills. If you guys want more details pls PM me or goto our RoadtripsIndia Blog.

    Thanks & Regards

@RedDragon:Let me first congratulate you for the initiative. Although I cannot join you, I have some queries for you.

I'm assuming all people who are participating will be riding. Are you stating that the guys will be riding all through the night? Your brochure tells that you will be starting on the eve and reaching the destination by 6am, the next day. That is too short of a time to cover such a distance and too in the dark. Even experienced tourers would find it hard to ride all night. The return trip even more worse - you expect all of them would ride through the night after a tired day of hiking and partying? Are you sure the forest roads will be kept open after dark?

Call me cynical; but it would be great if you could clarify.

All men dream, but not equally. Those that dream at night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act upon their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible. - T. E. Lawrence

            Hey Kirosh,

As i have mentioned above this is a adventure trip and all the fun is at the Aanamalai and Topslip hills. Since its going to be very very tiring to ride the bikes all the way to the resort (which i have tried with very bad results) we will be hiring a luxury bus to take us to and fro the destination.

The forest department does not give permission to ride bikes after 6.00 p.m. as it would be quiet dangerous so we have hired a tempo traveller for that.

            Hope this clarifies ur doubts.

            Regards,

yeah Ananth...we aint riding. Had a real bad experience with biking sometime back.

Its very tiring and the roads are not too good. Am sorry for repeating but the 'Adventure' starts once we reach the hills. I know its a bummer but have to consider the journey as well.

                Regards,

Thanks for the clarifications, RD! My only concern was riding thru the entire night. You've answered that.
