  • 3 Bikers ride to Srisailam (Andhra Pradesh)

It was a long time I did not ride anywhere and was missing the highway badly. After a lot of plans & plan fails , me along with 3 of my fellow xbhpian bikers decided to ride Srisailam , one of the spectacular hill stations in Andhra Pradesh. Srisailam is located at a distance of about 250 kms from Hyderabad.

Preparation - We carried sufficient water & few other liquids to keep our selves hydrated & energetic all through the day.Click image for larger version

ID:	1983705 We also carried some snacks like cakes , buicuits , namkeens & Snickers etc to munch all throughout the day.

We met at a common meeting point in Mehadipatnam at 6:40am in the morning from where we started our journey towards Srisailam.Click image for larger version

The weather was cool and pleasant and the sky was averagely cloudy. We moved towards the RGI Airport. Soon after crossing the Airport , we were on the narrow State highway. The was a beautiful ride through the rural areas , beautiful landscapes all around which were mostly green due to recent showers in and around Hyderabad.

We rode non-stop as the landscape was beautiful , complemented with the cool weather. We took a small break at around 8:30am to munch few of the snacks that we were carrying.

We munched few more miles to reach a junction near "Kavalakurthy" to have our proper breakfast. It was a lavish "Masala Dosa" which filled our tummies & that was the last heavy meal of the day ahead.

        The great Masala Dosa

Then we moved ahead towards Srisailam . Soon the heavy greenery started in and around the highway. The landscape was totally scenic & the ride was thoroughly enjoyable.

The first photo break was at Dindi River Dam. It was a beautiful spot , did a little off-roading to reach near the river.

And at last ...the nut was gone forever.

After lots of photo shooting , we kept moving forward and soon we were in the India's largest Tiger Reserve. Dense forest all around. We stopped once amidst the forest to enjoy the forest and click few snaps.

It started to drizzle in the forest area and we wore our rain gears in anticipation of a heavy shower , all in vain. It became sunny & humid after a few kilometers.

After the forest area , there came the ghat sections again. Super tight curves and totally enjoyable . The road was scenic all throughout.

On reaching Sriailam town , we head straight towards the temple area to buy "LADDUs" , but due to excess crowd we failed to get them. We moved towards our way back with a heavy heart.

On the way back , we were totally drained out due to the hot & humid weather we were facing. We stopped at the View point to click some pics & decided to go down the ghat & get down to the river that was flowing out of the dam.

Although the dam was almost full till the brim , the gates were not opened. our bad luck.

Finally we came down from one of the ghat and entered the river water. The water simply washed away all our tiredness. It was soooo much fun playing in the water. We had a rope handy for safety purpose. Also we were assisted by local fishermen to have maximum safety.

Finally at 11:30 pm , we reached home safely. We got lost near Kavakurthy & hit Bangalore-Hyd Highway. It was more of a speed run till Hyderabad.
I was saved due to my huge HID Projector setup , else i was half blind already without specs.

Overall , it was a memorable trip.

Very good log. Good to see the Gladiator cornering like this! One question, how did the Gladiator come up against more powerful counterparts?

Thank you. Glad to know you liked my log.

Yamaha Gadiator is the best 125cc in India at present. It has a wonderful chassis which loves to be thrown on to corners. Also Gladiator does 80+ kmph on highways with absolute ease. On the way back i was tailing the R15 @120 kmph. Also we maitained a decent 65 - 80 kmph all through the way ... so did not face much trouble.
