Re: Surat - Pune - Surat. 1000km. 2 days.
To begin with:
Met Yogi and Raja on the republic day ride to Saputara organised by the local Yamaha showroom here.
Yogesh then and there announced he wanted to ride to Lavasa on the independence day.
A month before the ride, Raja and I thought we’d tag along. Yogi hadn’t asked anyone in particular and Raja & I dint intend to ask anybody else either.
Fear: If you ask too many to come, they all initially say yes. But when time comes to leave, someone or the other will back out causing a chain reaction and eventually the whole plan will fall apart. So kept it simple, silly.
When the D-day came, luckily neither of us backed out.
Yogesh Gupta : Yamaha FZ
Raja Ozha : Yamaha R15v2.0
Prakash Solanki : Yamaha R15v2.0
Used a small Gear backpack to load up 2 pairs of clothes, towel, couple of underwears, camera among other stuff.
Yogi got his camera gear, tripods, clothes and all that.
Raja besides his clothes got hair oil, shampoo, conditioner, 2 deos, a comb, fairness cream, moisturiser, basically his entire personal beauty salon with him.
There was ofcourse a lot of melodrama at all of ours homes when they came to know we were riding to Pune. All of which eventually subsided.
Started our journey at 6am as opposed to our planned 4.30am meet up. Blame the family drama!
Surat to Palsana, had tea and some snacks and rode off towards Mumbai on the NH8.
Tanked up 10 odd kms on the highway before hitting the road again.
At about 9am, reached a place called Manor, some restaurant there apparently served the best Vadapav. It indeed did.
Some college people had turned up there. All the girls in yoga pants. Weird!
There was a puppy around and all they did was take stupid selfies with that dog. Bored and done with the breakfast, we got back to the highway.
Reached Mumbai, got stuck in traffic. Raja, we thought was still behind us when he was actually much ahead. When he finally took our call, we caught up at some place towards Kalyan.
Reached Kalyan at noon, had lunch in another famous restaurant whose name I don’t recall. Good lunch, btw.
Hit the road towards Malshej.
Surat – Kalyan – Malshej was ofcourse the wrong and long route to take, but we couldn’t help it; we were lost.

Reached Malshej. Dumbstruck with its beauty.
Stopped for some photography. Must have been 4am, we don’t remember.
Went up the hill, closer to the falls.

Place was incredibly crowded. Noticed the camaflouged Pulsar 400SS do some rounds.
It started raining. Got back on track towards Pune.
Bad roads. Bad roads everywhere.
Reached Pune at 8 or something. Pune is too huge. Suhas, our host for the night, stayed near Phoenix Mall/inOrbit Mall. Took us another hour to reach him.
Went to his place, freshen’d up. Went to some Chinese restaurant for our dinner.

That's Suhas. Mast fellow. Has no worry in the world. Ridiculously humble and forgiving.

Yogesh Gupta aka Yogi Baba

Suhas's roomie. Big Kabbadi fan. He taught us some rules.

Ahem!
Good food, overall.
Went back home. Crashed.
Woke up next morning. Took a dump/bath and dressed up towards inOrbit Mall. There’s a Sports complex next to it. Checked em both out.

Went back to Suhas’s place, wrapped our bags in polythene, geared up on the saddlebag.

Bid Suhas good bye and rode off towards Lavasa at about exactly noon.
Pit-stopped at Big Bazaar. My rant pants had torn off the previous day, needed a new pair, so bought one. 200 bucks. VFM.
Meanwhile, Yogi and Raja noticed a nail in Yogi’s rear. There was a puncture repair shop just up the road. Went there, got it checked, realised it was a 2mm tiny pin, no puncture. Decided to do a check up of Raja’s bike. Found out his had two. Got them repaired and rode off again.
Got lost inside Pune getting out of it, when we finally did, it was 2pm. Stopped for lunch. Good lunch, must say.
Back on track we tried to reach Lavasa. When we finally did, we realised we had reached Lonavala. “Famouse Madan Chikki”.
Took some time off to admire Lonavla’s beauty and decided to shoot off towards Mumbai.

Reached Thane. What a pain getting out of it. Somehow reached Fountain Hotel and took the right towards NH8.
It was already 9pm by now and we were 300 kms away from home. Decided to ride as long as we could and bank somewhere on the highway when we eventually got tired.
Must have been 11pm, we stopped for Dinner. Nice dinner, must say.
Raja was sleepy, Yogi wanted to stop at home only and me, well I was somewhere in between.
Pushed Raja to ride further.
Reached Palsana, parted ways and shot towards home.
Reached home at 3am.
Did about 1000kms in 2 days.
Surat-Kalyan-Malshej-Pune-Lonavla-Thane-Surat
Thanks for reading this badly written blog.
Cheers!
The End.

Nice but you don't remember details the names of the restaurants you stopped at, the exact time you stopped at malshej etc. Please be more specific in such details next time. Will help others when planning similar trips.
However you were specific in saying .. 'took a dump, bath','brought 2 deos'
And boy! Planning about the routes in advance will help, because I realized you planned this entire trip to ride in Lavasa, but never reached it!!The way you ride is the way you are..
