    the route to take is

    Chennai - Salem - Bhavani - Tirupur - Pollachi - Vaalparai - Athrepelly - Aluva - Munnar .

The route between Vaalparai and Athrepelly is about 88 kms and is through thick evergreen forests.

Bad roads , minimum traffic(or no traffic at times) and elephant trouble makes this a scary road to ride (if it is solo).

U r right bro!! a month b4 i went with my friends. Now the forests are getting dry so no dense greenery but the roads are bad, nearly 40kms no shop nothing !! especially tyres should be in good condition. unless we are helpless there. but kerela government is laying roads from athirapalli. But this route is a good for adventurous off roading experience let me know if anyone planning, eagerly waiting to join u guys

Thanks mate, i ride a bit slow , only around the 80's and at max the high 90's - so it should ideally take around 3 hours..

Wonderful pictures and trip log there. Loved the way the pics are edited. The place looked so marvelous. The curves of the roads are inviting.

Wish the weather doesn't play spoilsport!

Is the place (Munnar / Valparai) crowded this time of the year ?
