• Me, Dad and my Mother-land

Prologue : Dad was getting bored in home and I had to take few days off before year-end else they expire.
So I thought of showing dad what we motorcyclists do and in between show him some good places.

Going with the current Xbhp trend of starting threads with teasers

While many of us are eager to take our growing kids as pillion on longer rides, its heart warming to see you share your passion for riding with you dad.

Three cheers to your dad for coming along, coz I just realized after many many years of being the rider, that being a pillion was a lot more adventurous (read frightening for me)!!!!!

Ride safe & great spirits

...
Fantastic!

I did the same last year before I sold off my CBR. I took my dad on a 250km a day trip to Yelagiri hills...we both got wet in a torrential downpour....the benefits of being on a bike.

My dad loved it too - he always had interest in cars and bikes (and has auto magz dating back to 1980s) but never got a license - so it was a new experience for him jut riding for the sake of riding - not going anywhere in particular.

Good luck to all bikers and biking families! cheers

ps: my wife and my mother went to their parents place in tears - why should boys have all the fun

Haroon Sir ,it has been awe-inspiring for so many aficionados like me to see you ride with your wife in so many different countries with such planning and precision.
Its from you we learnt that while travelling with your near and dear ones, you share a totally different camaraderie.

1st day (21/12/14) started at 12:00 am reached Ramnad @ 1 pm

Took breaks every 45mins-1 hr because Dukes rear set is anything but comfortable ...

Bangalore -> Hosur -> Krishnagiri -> Dharmapuri -> Salem -> Karur -> Dindigul -> Madurai -> Ramnad -> Rameshwaram -> Dhanushkodi (back to Ramnad)

Took an hour rest in one of the Karur Bus stops

Booked a hotel in Ramnad since Rameshwaram was over-crowded.

LOL !!!
My top speed would have been a meager low triple digits with avg. around 80 specially when you consider the smooth TN roads.
Dad is very scared of corners so he would tap my back whenever he sees a corner to slow me down.

But on the flip side I saw figures of > 35kmpl highest being 38 kmpl in ODO, something that I have seen very rarely.
