  • [Photo Feature]: Jolting Jawhar

Saturday evening(2nd August 2014), we decided to go to Jawhar. However we have not decided the route that we need to take. Sunday Morning(3rd August 2014), it was 5:30 AM and we decided to take the hardest route through Bhiwandi, where there would be potholes, speed breakers, etc. A surprise was waiting for us after Bhiwandi. Those \"ROADS\". You can just sleep on them, they are damn good.

To Pali and then via Vikramgad through Ghat Road we reached Jawhar. Nice place to spend your weekend during Monsoon and Winter. Always use Google Maps, since we felt - it was better than the actual natives who actually don\'t know where Jai Vilas Palace is located. We found out that they actually call the palace as \"Jawhar Rajwada\". An epic ride that tested our Highway riding, City riding and Ghats riding skills. Watch out for the curves in the ghats, they are sexy and dangerous. Those turns would ask for little bit of throttle... if you are focused, then you would enjoy the ride. Otherwise it is the highway to hell...You will watch the rubber burn.... And yes you would ask for more after a ride on those bends/curves.... If you are a rider, this ride would definitely shake your soul.

Nice pics!! One of my favourite places around Mumbai for a quick day ride after Malshej ghats...Roads are brilliant for cornering. 3 friends & I made a trip to Jawhar last monday on 3 bikes (Pulsar 200 NS, Pulsar 150 and Discover 150).... Loved the ride..

The \"Palace\" has a nice compound to relax...Hope you saw the stuffed tiger on the 1st floor A little chai-pani to the watchman allows for a quick tour of the place....although honestly there\'s not much to see inside. Again...Beautiful pics...Very nice one of the bends

Yes... It is now open to public and you can give the watchman some tips to get a tour around the palace... Not sure if it is true... But the movie \'Queen\' was shot in this palace.
