Well, this was my first complete ride on my new HONDA CBR 250R. Since I was specific about getting a Mangalorean registration number (as this would be my first true vehicle under my own name), I had purchased it at Mangalore and I decided to ride it back to my current city Bangalore.
Thanks to a very kind man who told me to take the Charmadi Ghaat route rather thatn the bus-route via Shiradi Ghaat. Oh man, the Bangalore-Mangalore journey never seemed this gorgeous! This was on 9th Ocetober, 2014. I remember stopping atleast 30+ times in the middle of the ghaats itself, as I just could not stop admiring the gorgeous view.
A little drizzle of rain fall infact added sparkle to the entire scene, and made it even more spell-casting. The regular Mangalore-Bangalore journey by bus would usually take 8-9hours via Shiradi ghaat. But while on this road, I just did not bother, and I remember taking around 10-12hours to complete the trip. But let me tell you, it was all worth it.
Do try this route, especially during the monsoons. For those who do not get the opportunity to visit Shimla due to all so many reasons and commitments, well, this is the closest you can get, to that scenic beauty.
