Re: Xbhp Bbsr Trip To Deomali, Highest Peak Of Odisha

We left Sunki by 6:54PM to Similiguda, knowing that we have no chance of going Deomali now. As soon we left Sunki I came to know about the art of painful slow driving. Taufique R15 was fitted with R1 kind of headlight [yeah 4 lights]. And 2 of them are angel eyes & with rest 2 lights all you can see is max of 10feet. So on narrow road of 20 feet wide or so, I had to drive beside Taufique, all the way to Simliguda for 45km. And whenever a four wheeler came, I had to ride behind Taufique to make way for it. We were ridding like 15-20kmh, On which we could have done easily 50-60kmh . Around 8:30PM we reached Similguda. The day was yet to be over. Called mom to tell her we reached safely. And she gave us a shock by telling us there was a bomb blast in Rayagada. Roughly 150km from the current place

Siddhant left us there and went to Damanjodi 20 km away, to stay with his relative. Was really pissed off with his decision but didn’t utter a word.

Damanjodi this is the place i guess all of you already know about. If not then, Damanjodi is a small town in the Koraput district in the Indian state of Odisha. It is primarily a hilly area with a sparse population. The vast majority of the population of Damanjodi is made up of the employees of National Aluminium Company (NALCO), Asia's largest, and the world's seventh largest, producer of aluminium. Encompassing bauxite mining (known as the Panchapatmali mines), alumina refining, aluminium smelting and casting, power generation, rail and port operations. "Panchpatmali Mines"(meaning : The Mine is surrounded by Five Hills) has a reserve of bauxite ore for about 120 years for the continuous production of alumina, and then aluminium. However, those estimations were based on an annual extraction of 240,000 tons of bauxite from the mines. The population is cosmopolitan as the employees come from all parts of the country. [copied from wiki]

Taufique was looking for some economical hotel and I was ready to sleep on ground but the hotel must have parking with guards. Finally found Applevilla. Ate dinner in the room itself, Veg Biryani, Paneer butter masala, Chilly mashrrom, Chapati & Lassi 540/- only. 1st proper meal of the day. Manager was kind enough; ask us to park inside the hotel hall itself. So it was supper secure now. 500km + done. We call it a day.

        Hash day 1 done

            Day 2 –

Simliguda > Back to Kundili > Deomali > Back to Similiguda> Duduma Waterfall > Araku Valley

Woke-up sharp at 5AM, shut off the alarm, went back to sleep. No need to laugh I knew it was dark outside, no need to ride in snail pace . Got-up at 6:30AM, called Siddhant. Asked him to have breakfast at hotel. Got ready by 7AM and when we open the door.

            It's a beautiful day
            Sky falls, you feel like
            It's a beautiful day
            Don't let it get away

            You're on the road
            But you've got no destination
            You're in the mud
In the maze of her imagination

            You love this town
Even if that doesn't ring true
            You've been all over
And it's been all over you

            It's a beautiful day
            Don't let it get away
            It's a beautiful day

            Touch me
Take me to that other place
            Teach me
            I know I'm not a hopeless case

Ahem Ahem ...Enough of this shit, yo where is the food man. I’m hungry.

Went down to its restaurant, breakfast was served sharp at 7:15 AM. 4 Wada per plate & coffee on the house & we add on 4 bread and 2 double omelette 90 /- only. Siddhant yet to reach us. Finished eating and ready to ride by 7:45AM.

Siddhant calling “aunty puch rahi hain lunch kitne baje karoge, I must meet uncle before I leave”

[now you guys can understand my pissed off mood last evening. No relative on the trip yaar. Or at least request them to meet you in hotel. You cant make them change their routine but instead they will make you follow their that too on their pace]

I was like “bhai-mere haat jodo mafi mango, humare taraf se bhi ek bar please meet as asap or we will be again late”

Siddhant came at 8:45AM, & immediately we start our journey. Rode flat out of that town back to Kundili. Surprised those 18km were flat valley roads where one can maintain 120kmh+ easy.

            now 22km to Deomali

Was too fast, almost missed the sign. Up to this point road was very nice. Next 1km was very tough. Due to small water springs, road was gone and the big loose rocks have come out.

ID:	1902699th jan so petrol pump may remain closed. So we decided to push on today, target Badel square by 3PM.

Settled the bill, surprised no tax on food. Got 10% discount on room. Total bill 2350 /- only [room 1000/-]. Cheked out of hotel at 2PM. [Its a recommendation for our side, if anyone visiting this place do stay in this hotel. Cosy room, with 24hrs warm water, wifi, restaurant & parking with security guard at only 1000/- is not bad at all]. Petrol pump on the opp side

Siddhant was in different zone, leading us. Rode aggressively maintaining 110-20 kmh, took corner like a pro . Road were asking us to ride harder. Except a patch of 5-10km it was butter smooth. But Taufique was not able to keep up.
Called Sajal bhai for route, though he explained the route quickly but again warn us not to drive at night. As per sajal bhai crossed a hilarious Railway station BHEJA. But darn reached Badel square at 4PM. Taufique R15 was struggling, after all those morning ride his fairing has become loos. The headlight section vibrating too much. Asked the local people, they said it will take 3 -4 hrs to see the waterfall properly.

So close yet so far.nd gear. All duke guys will understand the clutch thing.

Common!!!! If you hold it towards light you can see through it. My mom shawl is warmer than this shit. Now I understand why they took the whole rent in full advance .

Well it was a awkward night. Three full grown men sleeping close to each other on a bed. Writing once will never discuss it again in my life.

                      We call it a day

                        The panoramas were captured good.
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

                            Day – 3
Araku Valley > Borra Caves > Vizianagaram > Natavalasa > Srikakulam > Ichhapuram > Brahmapur > Chilika Dhaba > Home Sweet Home

Its day3 woke up at 6AM. Got freshen up, geyser is there a huge one but it will work after 9AM. What kind of rule is this! Never mind want to start my day in positive and cheerful manner. Somehow we turned a 2 day road trip to 3. There is no more extra day to fool around this is it.
Decision needed to be made and it’s a tough one. If we go back for Duduma water it will be 150km + in total, 2 hrs drive plus 2-3 hrs near waterfall route and visiting the actual waterfall. On top of that 500km+ drive back to home. It was going to be too much. Had to let it go . We decided to see places around Araku Valley.

Please keep marking one thing in all snaps will tell you in the end

Beautiful Sunrise at valley.[nice click Taufique ] Sorry mistakenly posted as sunset.

Took the detour and rode towards Borra Caves. Surprised to see track at these heights . They even have a small Railway station up there .

We reached Borra cave at 8:30 AM. Now we have reached the cave before 2hrs of opening. Can’t go back, all we can do is wait.
