  • [Photo Feature]: Ride to the Land of Great Kings

    Hello Riders,

This is my first ever travelogue/Post on xBhp and though, this is by far my Longest Ride since I have started riding on two wheels and it really moved my soul , so kindly forgive me for any mistakes/longish posts, but I will try to keep it as short as I can.

    Destination - Rajasthan

Planned Route :- Mumbai - Surat- Vadodara - Udaipur- Jodhpur - Jaisalmer - Mount Abu – Modasa – Vadodara - Mumbai

    Days/Dates - 8 Days / 3rd January to 10th January 2015

    Distance - Planned 2500 KMS , Actual 2700 KMs

    Riders & Rides -
    Sachin(Me) & Kiran (Wife) - Bullet Electra 350
    Sandeep & Natasha - Thunderbird 350
Hemant & Prajakta - Hero CBZ Extreme

    Prologue:
It was one fine afternoon (1st august 2014) when I had less work in office and I thought of planning to ride to Rajasthan as I never saw the sand dunes in my life and always wanted to feel the real sand and wanted to go for a long ride and test my abilities, and I started searching on internet and completed Draft version for the Ride and it had tentative Route map, Probable accommodations, Desert Camping options, places to visit in each city,

As soon as I had done preparing the draft plan, I emailed the Document to my better half who is always super charged for travelling/Riding, in fact she always accompanied me for almost all the rides I have done, and one fine day she was really furious and said to me “I will also ride a bullet of my own and I don’t want to be a pillion any more” , and we almost booked the CL350 for her, but then she said “I think, I will walk before I run” and we settled for Blue Avenger because of the various reasons like weight of the
    machine, new rider, handling.

Oops, I can write altogether different thread how biking changed me and my better half’s life but let’s focus on this Ride, the ride was planned for December 2014 but due to some reasons it had to be postponed and, initially I thought of riding to Rajasthan with my wife on my Bull but then I discussed it with some of friends and Hemant (Rides CBZ Extreme) told me two weeks prior to the ride that I will also join you guys, and the best surprise came when the ride was 6 days to go and Sandeep(Rides Thunderbird 350) messaged me and told me, he will also tag along with Natasha(His wife), both are working in UAE, and they booked the tickets from UAE to Mumbai just for being on their two wheels, I feel their souls have been really moved by two wheels. :P

Ride Preparation and travelogue is coming soon...

Apologies for very late update to this thread (Reasons- Got Lehd in June2015, preparation and execution, leaving a Job, finding a new job)

    ..Continuing from teasers and prologue

    A Thrilling ride to Rajasthan..

    “The Sand of Time”

    Day 1 : 01/03/2015

    Mumbai - Manor - Valsad - Surat - Kamrej - Ankaleshwar - Bharuch - Vadodara – Godhra – Udaipur

“The Longest, toughest and the most exhausting ride in low temperature :-)”

On Friday night i.e on 01/02/2015, Wifey reached home at 10:30 PM and started to packing up the saddles bags meanwhile I had a last minute work to be done for our beast some tyre/tube check so went to Tyrewala. We keep everything ready and packed in the living area for every ride so that we don’t miss out with anything important since we had to leave by sharp 4:30 am the next day.

It was 1:45 am and we were still completing our last minute packing. We had just 2 hrs for rest however due to all anxiety we were up by 3:45 am bright and fresh <we will never get up for office this way:-D>

Our Meeting point was near Dhara’s Dhaba we reached the spot by 5.00 am, two bulls & our 3 friends were already waiting for us. Obviously there should be some late comers in your group and this time the late comer award goes to "Hemant Dhotre and Prajakta Jadhav” 2 newbie’s added to our group. After waiting for almost 1 and a half hr they showed up at 6.10 am <angry>. We were too delayed as per the schedule.
We started our ride at 6:15 am <Ganpati Bappa Morya> Soon after an hr we felt an need for a break since chilly breeze were hitting us continuously chai break was a must.

Till 4.30 PM we were riding constantly without any long breaks. We just took small breaks for fuel refilling, water break and to have a yummy breakfast (Burji Chapatti special thanks to Hemant's Mommy)

At 5.00 we took a lunch break at Subway <It was NO to a heavy lunch everyone had already started dozing>. After riding continuously for several hours it was all dark and we still did not met our target <Which was Obvious..LOl>.

Road Condition... <What can I tell you u about Gujarat roads everybody knows about the silky-smooth roads out there>
Night riding which was the BIG FAT NO was repeated again. It was damn cold and we targeted to reach Udaipur, having no option we were on roads again. Thanks to sleeping bags it helped our back bones to a great extent and Warmies <The small packet which we kept in our Socks gave us some heat>
After riding for almost 23 hours on Day 1 at 3.30 am we felt that it cannot be pushed anymore since it was more 100 kms for Udaipur. We stopped at the hotel on the highway..

650 kms on DAY 1 Not bad at all~
More 96 kms to sight City of Lakes & Palaces – Udaipur…DAY 2 to be Cont..and pics of day 1.
