• [Photo Feature]: ZMR.Gokarna.Couple.V-day2015

14th to 17th of February 2015, I went for a trip along with my g.f.
Route taken was -
Bangalore-Chikamagalur-Tarikere-Agumbe-Marvanthe-Murdeshwar-Gokarna-Ottinene-Bhatkal-Udupi-Manipal-Shimoga-Shravanbelagola-Bangalore.

As always, an interesting and unhappy experience followed me in this trip, end result was a new key set for my bike (new one is even better as it has the letter R from karizma embedded). More on that later, will upload a few pictures until mods approve the log.

No unnecessary delays this time, pucca :-)
Got inspired by plasmabhai words (http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/tourer/2...ml#post1129700) and will therefore try to concentrate on better writing this time around. I am also trying to recall the road conditions while riding to help other riders in planning their route. Further details can be found in the thread - http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/touring-...uth-india.html

Tried a bit of recording with my action cam, still trying to learn a way around its software to bring the videos down to an acceptable size.

"No unnecessary delays" is just the same as "conditions apply". We want NO DELAYS!

It's a good start already. Now continue maadi.

Prologue -

It was February and the sun in Bangalore had already started showing signs of what to expect as the summer approaches. One of the biggest challenges of bike touring comes during summer season. India begins to heat up and travelling through lonely endless stretches of highways becomes almost impossible. For a person like me who generally rides with a pillion, this becomes even more important. I kept telling myself - just a month left, after that no touring with your beloved. Valentine's day was approaching fast and though I still believe it's pure crap, I had give in to the demands of her highness. A cute puppy, a soft toy, some random jewellery, box of chocolates, a romantic dinner at a costly restaurant etc. were just too mainstream, also if I ever had to make these lame choices I would never have been with Jayati in the first place. A trip was on the cards but I decided to give it a little twist this time. Usually Jayati does the boring job of opening the GPS and looking for directions etc. , this time though I wanted to chuck Google maps. I decided to go with paper printouts instead. While I was taking screenshots of the maps to be printed, an idea struck me. Why not let the whole trip be a surprise for my pillion. I decided to let her guess the destination by dividing the complete trip into five parts, each part covering a stretch of the journey. At the end of each destination I would open up the next map and let her know of the way forward. Another important thing to be kept in mind was to take a route and cover destinations that were new for Jayati. Having been to Udupi just 3 weeks back I was confident of the route and thus we decided to hit the highway on 14th of February 2015, Saturday. Applied for leave on Monday and it got approved immediately. Till the date of journey she kept guessing the destination.

Nice way to keep the spice up
And make the whole ride even more interesting for the pillion.

Ride safe and have fun.

A visual treat would be too much, I am just a random guy who starts his bike and wanders aimlessly in the highways. I don't even know photography, still learning from the amazing photographers in Bangalore xbhp group.
