Although about this ride there is an article in Feb-Mar xBhp magazine, but posting it here so that everyone can read those who have not bought the magazine. Also other people can post pictures and lets cherish once again the fun, laughter and brotherhood we shared during this ride.
It all started on a windy night of a weekday when couple of us drove to Narsapura CCD, outskirts on Bengaluru. We were remembering the moments from the ISG2G of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh that was organized earlier in the year of 2014 and suddenly we felt an urge to organize something similar, but this time within the Bangalore chapter. It was quite some time that we as a chapter, rode together, enjoyed our moments together. We were discussing about a probable location when Suvrajit and Ashish came up with Kudremukh. (People in the part of this conversation: Ashish, Suvrajit, Saquib and myself Sauban). It is quite unexplored, and being an abandoned township, it is spooky as well. This location got sealed immediately to be our ride destination and we came home, with a plan in mind.
With one month left, preparations started, and to our sheer pleasure, we got a healthy response from our fellow riders, confirming their presence for the ride. Suvrajit and Saquib took the charge for accomodation (the accomodation was finalised to be the KIOCL guest house, to get a spookier environment) and t-shirts and by the time the week of the ride arrived, every one of us were ready, mentally as well as physically. We were at a whooping 25 riders at the meeting point, waiting to rock the weekend, a mixture of different age groups, a mixture of different CCs, a mixture of different cultures. This is brotherhood at its best!
Our first stop was at Hotel Mayura for breakfast. It was actually a splendid sight to see all the bikes in a single line formation, with head lights on. It was a head turner for lot of cars and local people along the highway, some actually came over at the hotel to enquire the purpose/destination of the ride.An hour stop at the hotel and we were all set to continue our next leg, which was now on the State Highway, with narrower roads. It was a pleasure to see how professional each and every one were in tackling city traffic, highway traffic and even cattle-traffic. From fast National Highways, to scenic State Highways, to dense forests, we rode in a single line, together. By the time we reached the KIOCL guest house, it was 3pm and it was raining. Some of us were tired already and after sorting out the rooms, we quickly focused on finishing our lunch. It was a basic lunch and the guest house being aloof from city life, we did not expect anything better. Majority of us went out for sightseeing post lunch and for some photo-sessions but were reminded to come back by 6pm as there was campfire next in line.
The campfire session went on for about 4 hours with introduction from each one of us, how everyone came accross xBhp and how the community helped in making them better tourers. It was an emotional moment for everyone of us, listening to stories we never knew, incidents which no one shared before. That was the moment when each one of us felt proud to be an xBhpian! After the long session, we went off to have dinner and crashed off as we had plans to wake up early for some photoshoot.
Early morning the next day was initially chilly and foggy. With dense fog all around the guest house, it seemed perfect to head out for a photoshoot. Unfortunately, by the time everyne got ready and headed out, all the fog went off and it was becoming hotter. We rode to a nearby location, surrounded by hills around for some photoshoot and came back in 2 hours to have breakfast, ready to check out from the hotel. By noon, everyone started from the hotel, towards Bangalore, again, in a single line formation. By the time we reached the National Highway, it was getting dark with Sun setting on the horizon, another magical feeling which no words can express. The rest of the journey back home to pretty much straightforward with everyone riding together with a flood of lights, making the highway glowing in the dark. By the time we reached Bangalore, it was 10 pm and everyone was dead tired, wanting to crash on bed. Each and everyone of us were really happy to have spent the weekend, away from the city traffic and pollution, in the middle of nature where there is no network and people to bother you. Yes, this is freedom, this is brotherhood at its very best!
Also I would like each and every person who were the part of this ride please share your experience and who knows we can land up with an another awesome ride plan.
