I'm a business man and doing lot of traveling in my car (4000km to 5000 km per month).I never thought that it will be so much fun riding on a bike.I have planned to do short rides around my native city Salem every Weekend.

1)Salem to poolampatti=55km

2)poolampatti to Mettur dam =20km

3)Mettur to Salem via Tharamangalam=55kms.

On a lazy Sunday morning I started my ride at 7.30am without telling to my wife(she won't allow long ride on bike).Later whatsapped her my route plan .

From Salem to poolampatti the roads are awesome and I maintained 80s,90s effortlessly.
In Poolampatti you have ferry service across river Cauvery to reach the opposite side Nerinjipettai. .

The road from poolampatti to mettur is a narrow village road.(In good condition).I reached Mettur at 9.30am.Had breakfast at a small hotel near the dam(fresh fish,omlet and dosa).

In the return journey I took the the Tharamangalam route.Nice road but little bit traffic after Tharamangalam.Reached home at 11.30am.
