    16th G2G (Bangalore chapter) To the land of coffee � Chikmagalur

    Before i start this tlog, i would like to thank everyone who joined and made it a success and one of my best G2G’s to remember for a long time.
    We had all kinds of weather on this ride which i thought was the best part.

    The full story comes after approval, teasers for the time being...

                It was quite sometime after the kudremukh ride, me and suvrajit were planning for a G2G and one day i see it posted on the thread, destination chikmagalur. With no second thoughts, replied i will join, now the hunt was to look for accommodation did a little research and found this decent place (Good earth homestay) good property reasonably priced. Spoke to the owner and booked the place and riders also started confirming aswell with all going smooth then comes the shocker, suvrajit will not be joining for the ride due to personal commitments and couple of other riders were also tentative. As the days went by riders confirming or dates changing of the ride made it a little shaky and finally all was settled, we were 10 riders from Bangalore and 1 from chitradurga (Abhijith @Mr Blackcat) who came directly to the homestay.

                The ride day arrived and thankfully did not have to wait for long for everyone to arrive at the meeting point. As usual the first break point was mayura. After breakfast split into two groups and the fast bikes roared off, after munching couple of miles saw sanjoy stopped his bike and smoke coming all over it. All the scientist got down and were doing the permutations and combinations to diagnose where the problem was, and finally came to know that the engine oil leaking and spilt all over. Looked for the nearest petrol pump to top up the oil and searched bajaj service centre which was found in Hassan (Arpita automobiles) and found the gasket at the bore not fixed properly. Took almost an hour to fix and in the mean time asked the fast group to carry on to the homestay. Now back to riding after a long break, crossing belur and just before chikmagalur the rain gods welcomed us and after few kms it was completely dry and thats where we started cornering. (Thought about arnab and saquib there) as i was waiting at the homestay’s gate for rest of them to join a passer by told me one of the guys of your group has fallen down, it was tapa’s brother (sayantan) at one of the corners slipped and got stuck in between a tree, just escaped with bruises lucky. A good lunch was served and we planned to go to hirekolale lake for sunset but nature had made its own decision not to let us go and it rained cats and dogs for almost two hours, Sipping hot tea and bajjis in rain made the evening. It was cold as the rain stopped, the day ended with a bon fire and dinner with a variety.

                  Day 2, starts with the sunrays falling directly on our face to wake us up and could feel the heat of peak summer at 8:00 in the morning. Just before breakfast did a little photo shoot and decided to go to (Mullayyanagiri) highest peak in Karnataka. Really good place to visit and just before reaching the peak 3-5 kms is complete off-road which is more exciting. Good 2hrs spent and back to chikmagalur for lunch. After which was straight arrow roads which leads home.

                  Overall a good ride and hope many more rides to come this way....
