  • [Photo Feature]: Ride to 'The Scotland of India' Coorg. My first ride

    Hello There!!
I am Rohit. Software Engineer by profession and a traveler at heart. I always wanted to travel to different places and explore the beauty, cultures spread across the country. I never gave much importance to it though I liked it, but during course of time I found it to be a thrilling experience which I liked in my heart.
Herein I will explain my first bike trip to Coorg, also known as "The Scotland of India".
    Source: Bangalore
    Destination: Kabinakkad, Coorg
    Distance: 270 KMs
    Bikes: 4, 1 Suzuki Gixxer(mine), 1 Yamaha FZ-S(Sam), 1 Yamaha R15(Shash), 1 Pulsar 150(Pratik)
Riders: 5 (4 +1 pillion) Samrat, Shashwat, Yogesh, Pratik and me.
    Stay: Chingaara Home stay

I always had interest in travelling but never had experienced the thrill of riding long distance. I along with my friends had a potential plan of visiting places but a few obstacles like the number of bikes were the road blocks. Finally, few of us got bikes and our plan could not just stay potential. We always aspired of going on a trip, but again the question arose "WHERE!!". Days went on, my heart wanted a ride to feel the newly discovered passion, to feel the wind, to feel the excitement. One day i had the ice breaker among all, "Guys we are going to Coorg", the silence broke and everybody agreed to it. Samrat, a xBhpian a traveler at heart too suggested a very decent home stay on the outskirts of Coorg, Chingaara, near Kabinakkad Coorg.
The dates were finalized and we had to start on May 23rd at 0500 hours. This was going to be a 3 days trip.
Day 1: We started a bit late at around 0515 hours from BTM layout, reached Mysore road at 0545 hours. We all got our tank filled and the ride was on.
I had planned to give a fast start since we need to reach the destination on time so as to get ample amount of time to cover several places and enjoy the beauty. The weather was cool in the morning and pleasant. smooth ride was on, we were clocking 100 many a times, since the road was clear. We took a small break at the road side, just to relax a bit.
Our plan was again to stop by Mandya before Mysore to get breakfast. After riding for around 2 hours we were at a food joint namely "Nandini". After having our breakfast and relaxing for around 45 mins, we were all set to begin again.

Good going guys and nice to see that all of you had helmets, hopefully on the next ride you will have full riding gear as well.

    Cheers
