Luckily, he was riding in a 4-lane highway, almost deserted. He told he could see only two bikes length ahead. It it had been a two-lane highway, he would have had some anxious moments.

Satish, that is to beat the sleep riding. You can follow it at anytime. U should have come real good experience on this highway to ride.

How the hell did u ride with that slime on ur visor? I can't ride with even a quarter of that on a plain visor!!!
that was the real beauty... i love such thrills...
first road trip..no cash..no fuel... couldn't see any thing....
and trust me(as i was constantly dipping but could not see more than 2 bike lenghts maintaining 70kmph constant) with all that crap on my wiser, when i suddenly saw a villager right in front of me wearing a white dothi and white shirt,i got the creeps man... my heart stopped for a min...i mean since i was dipping constantly and not seeing even a single soul for the past 10~15min ,and before a sec there was nobody and the next sec(when i dipped again) there was this cycle guy, igot the creeps...
i just ripped my baby and went on going like that till the next village...

Btw, how do you say your bike's performance reduced with Power1? I thought it was better than Motul 5100?
as i said it wes the normal power one,the part syn one... not the racing one...

Good to see some log on the Hyderabad Vijayawada Highway. Against the popular perception I like NH9 a bit. Anyway good to see some beautiful images from Konaseema area, would love to see some more images. I plan to ride through that region someday.(Some suggestions, routes are welcome)

But Vijayawada in just 5hrs and 15 min is a bit amazing, I did it in little over 6Hrs on my R15,but had some good long breaks in between as the Bike was new and that was my first long ride.
I can also empathize with you abt what ppl thought and told you about taking the bike all the way to your Grandparents house.

The best time I covered Hyderabad to Vijayawada is 4 hours (from LB Nagar to Vijayawada). Inside city 45 min extra. This was done around 1 year back. The average time is 5 to 5.5 hours whenever I travelled on bike.

So you must be knowing every turn of the road. But aren't we supposed to give break to the bike? I am asking becoz I am not used to long rides on the bike....but I would like to do some this year.

Not needed. 4 hours at a stretch is pretty fine even at speeds over the ton mark... just make sure that your engine is in good condition and the engine oil is good.

BTW, if the day is very hot you might give it a consideration... but then, you will stop for quenching ur thirst much before the engine would need some cooling off!

Yup! I know each and every turn on this highway. I frequently travel on this road to reach my hometown. Almost 8 times I rode on this highway and may be around 20 times I drove a car on this highway and numerous times I travelled on bus.

Out of all these, many are in the night, which required a special skill to ride on this road.
