  • [Photo Feature]: Pantnagar-Ramnagar-Ranikhet-Binsar-Nainital-Haldwani-Pantnagar

At last got some free time to finish my first ever travelogue today. Living in a state which is famous for its scenic beauty and hilly regions is a plus point in itself and travelling to those hills on a bike just add more spice to an everyday life.
As this was a unplanned trip, the excitement and fun was up to its highest level. One major merit of a unplanned trip is that there is a less time to pack all the things, so as a result--less luggage which leads to more fun (this funda works only on short trips and not in longer journeys)

Here are some details about the trip:
    1) No. of days = 2
    2) Route taken = Pantnagar-Haldwani-Ramnagar-Ranikhet-Binsar-Ranikhet-Nainital-Haldwani-Pantnagar
    3) Total Kms ridden = 377 Kms
    4) Bike used = Yamaha Rx100(1994)
    5) Fuel consumed = 11 L(approx. Rs800)
    6) Total trip cost = Only Rs1100 (because I stayed at one of my relative place, so food and night stay was free)
    7) No. of persons = 4 (Me with Rajesh on my Rx100 and Indresh with Hanumant on his Eterno)
    8) Camera used = Sony Cybershot W-730

Detailed travelogue will be updated later after the mods approval. Till then enjoy some teaser pics

Thanks [MENTION=38603]The Monk[/MENTION] for the quick approval and suggestion for the helmet, I already have a Studds Ninja full face helmet, doesn't wear it that time because in full face helmets talking to the pillion becomes a very hard task and I have to turn my head every time I have to say something to my friend sitting behind me, which turns my eyes away from the road [emoji12]
But I always wear a full face helmet whenever I am riding alone [emoji4]

Hey buddy, good teasers. Come up with more. This is the time when every where it is full of lush green & most beautiful scenic picturesque valleys & landscapes can be seen.

However, sad to know that Nainital city is experiencing floods, water logging & wash away muds, etc.

              Thanks mate

When one of my friend sent me some pictures of water and sand logging in roads of nainital alongwith a video , I was like - what the hell, from where all that water comes on the road with that much sand and mud. [emoji47]
Wanted to go there and see what actually happens there, but my father strictly said no to that [emoji20]

Yes, its better not to go there now. Never know how nature changes her mood. It is targeting each place every year. We just have to wait & watch.

These days I like Rudrapur-Pantnagar route. That little stretch is very beautiful.

 waiting for more of ur travelogue.

Indeed it looks like that way, tsunami in tamilnadu-water flood in uttarakhand-extreme hot in andhra pradesh-earthquake in Nepal-flood and landslides in nainital [emoji20]

                    DAY 1 : Pantnagar-Haldwani-Ramnagar-Ranikhet (approx. 175km)

As this trip was not planned before, all four of us were having our breakfast at a tea stall outside our hostel.
It is then clicked in our mind that lets ride to some place in the hills for 2-3 days as the relative humidity in Pantnagar was at its max being middle time of the year, i.e., June . Then the real argument starts between us for deciding where to ride and also which place would be light on our pockets. Suddenly my cousin from Ranikhet called me(it was like as he was listening to our argument about places from there ) and say “bhai KAFAL khane aa ja(KAFAL=a fruit found in hilly regions of Uttarakhand)” . After listening to our conversation my friends asked me whether we all can stay at my cousin’s place for the night and it is than decided that we all are going to Ranikhet, crash at my cousin’s place for the night and head back to Pantnagar the other day

I immediately call back my cousin and told him about our plan and he was more than happy to hear that I am coming that day itself
We all hurry back to our rooms and pack just two laptop bags(without laptops ) with one jacket + one sweatshirt for each and my camera + charger(less luggage more fun)
So guys now the "feast to the eyes" begins :

My cousin and his younger brother on the way to his home.
We have to walk for approx. 2km to reach my cousin’s place and to prevent our rides from theft and tempering on the highway road, we keep them inside a tea shop for the day and whole night(good thing that my cousin knows the owner of that tea shop)

After finishing our spicy meal it seems to be impossible to further move our legs to roam around the area so we all decided to sleep for couple of hours to recharge ourselves and also my camera battery. Woke up at around 4pm and decided to roam around the field to capture the diverse flora and fauna of the hills J

                    Wild Mushroom
( this is what my Uncle brings from the forest for my dinner) , this edible variety of mushroom grows abundantly in the forest along with a similar looking poisonous variety, so only few experienced person(like my Uncle) who can differentiate between them can bring them for food.
I am telling all this because few years back during one of my visit to cousin’s place, I in overconfidence went to the forest to gather these edible mushrooms and when I returned back to the house with 35-40 mushroom bulbs(feeling very proud of myself that moment) my uncle inspects them all and told me that only 4 bulbs are the edible ones and rest of them are poisonous(that day I learn – “Overconfidence kills”)

After having delicious and spicy dinner we all settled down inside our blankets and share our various experiences with each other as we all are from different states(Me+Cousin+Indresh=Uttarakhand, Rajesh=Bihar, Hanumant=UP)
During our chat my cousin told us that yearly fest is going on in “Binsar Mahadev Temple”, and also suggested me that if I wanted to show my friends the temple than this is the perfect time in whole year. My friends were all pumped up hearing that and with some old stories of the temple , we all passed out for the night

This is one of the benefits of biking. You get to experience and feel a lot of things which probably would not have been possible otherwise.

Definitely the benefits of biking [emoji106]

Because while driving a car whenever I slow down to capture a moment , someone from the rear seats(most of times my parents) starts yelling at me to not to stop the car and just keep moving , which really frustrate me sometimes, even my friends have that motive to first reach the destination and than shoot the place [emoji35]

But on bike I can stop whenever I want to and do whatever I wanted to do [emoji4]
