  • Saddlesore- to indian coal city

    Hey guys,
Yesterday on 10:30 am,i completed my 1740 kms journey.
    here goes:-
i always want to go for this ride ever since my sister called me. I booked the hotel in dhanbad but still confused about the doubts of my sister for this bike ride. So i just scrolled the trains for dhanbad and from mumbai to dhanbad, kolkatta mail is cancelled due to itarsi rri problem. So i decided to go by bike because break journey is worst thing for me. Some days ago, i asked on xbhp for route plan. As always, they helped me.
But i m such a jerk but that i will tell u later...so on 7th of july , i saw my cbr 150 kms which are showing 4669 km. Cbr replied me...." Hey bud, just give me a try". My heart say- ok..lets see what u can dig up". I go through SHELL and tell the operator to fill this beast with Unleaded petrol. Checked the air pressure...its ok at that time. Lubricated the chain and cbr is now fresh and says " i m ready bud".
So fixed the side mirrors.....fixed the alarm on IPAD of 3:00 AM but due to excitation, i didnt slept uptill 00:30 AM...so all i sleep for 4 hrs...at 3:45 AM i wake up and said " oh i m late". I got up and get ready for bang bang....took my saddle bag and fix it. Took some cashew nuts with me for journey.
Started at 4:38 AM and took pune to alephata route. At 5:45 am, i m at alephata and took turn for ahmed nagar. At 7 am, i m at ahmed nagar. And my first cashew nut is eaten.
After that took route for aurangabad. At 9:45 am, i m standing in front of MIDC of aurangabad....oh hell..what an awesome highway. Then i called my friend and ask him, from which route i should go...
he told me to go by aurangabad-jalna- mehkar-wardha. I go by jalna route and then ask the way for mehkar. Oh the road is worst and needs some real attention. After that 17 kms horrible road, i got the jalna route which is not the best one but with some patches....but CBR said " hey,bud i m ok". At 5:45 PM i m at Raddison Blue. I called my cousin sister and told her,i m in nagpur....although when i reached there, she yelled at me for coming by bike but i somehow manage her. I m exhausted and tired and slept at 8 pm and wake up at 4 am next day. Again picked up the route of NH53 and gone upto raipur and reached there at 7:30 am. CBR is roaring proudly and told me that i have completed 278 kms in 3:30 hrs. Wow.
    ....
    then something happens..
suddenly road is full of traffic upto bilaspur but still i manages to go there uptill 10:45 am. Then gone through the Raigarh highway and got some beautiful scenary and just stopped bike. Oh that scene is awesome with rain. But then the road starts to show wear n tear and thus my life becomes hell and first time i said to myself..." Why i m doing this? My bike stucked in that MUD or mire or more probably saying " kichad" . Oh that truck wala is so bad....showed me the baddest ever road of this world. From now onwards, i will never believe any truckman. Well, after that i have survived...rain starts from Gumla-ranchi. I reached ranchi at 20:30 and called my sister that i cant come today.
Next day morning, i m there at dhanbad from Ramgarh-chas-bokaro route. When i reached ramgarh i remembered the dialogue of sholay. "Yaha se 50 kos duur jab baccha ganv mein rota hey toh maa kehti so jaa...nahi toh gabbar aa jayega".

CBR mirrors always tend to loose. I think this is not the case with Ninja or other faired bikes in India.

CBR 150R, CBR 250R, Karizma ZMR, R15 are all faired bikes . I have seen a Ninja 250R with problematic mirrors too, but that's just a one off case.

Re: Saddlesore- to indian coal city

Thanks for your replies. I m back again in pune on 14 jul 15. So here goes, how it goes....
On 13th, i have checked out from hotel at 5:00 Am and selected the Grand trunk road for my return journey. I want to say this that Roads condition of any road is good if they are maintained but in india they started riding on the road just when they are in preparation. Whatever, i have gone through barhi-aurangabad-sasaram-gaya(outer road)-mughal sarai. That one is the straight road,so its good. Then i took turn for Mirzapur and gone through the wrong road and covers almost half road upto robertsganj....then i checked on gps, oh i have to take turn before 40 kms...shit! I return by bike and that take me at least 1 hr more and reached again mirza pur by 13:00 hrs.

then i ride with anger and didnt stop uptill Rewa. Then i gone through a pit stop and drink some water. Then didnt stop uptill maihar. My next stop is just after maihar. There i regroup my thoughts and contain myself as i m angry...at 20:00 hrs, i m at jabalpur. My old memories are back and i firstly gone through Pani puri center and eated 2 plates of pani puri at the ranital chowk. Then i reached at my relative home and take a bath.

on next day, i started my journey at 3:00 am and from jabalpur bypass started my trip but i m so tired yesterday that i slept on bike and passes one truck just my some inches. Oh my god, you saved me....i stoped at dhaba after barghi dam and take a large cup of tea but im so sleepy that i again slept at dhaba. I again started at 5:45 am and started my journey upto nagpur. At 9:30 am, i m at nagpur. I have gone through Pench tiger reserve and ther are all the monkeys i see but no tiger...But i must say, MPRDC is doing the best job in case of roads in india.
Well, after that i never stopped and gone through upto wardha but again got confused after yavatmal and took nanded road but turned to digras when i realised its a long route. So after digras, i took road to mangrulpir and then again take highway to aurangabad which gone through by shelu-mehkar-jalna-aurangabad. At 6:00 Pm, i m aurangabad to pune bypass.
that hectic journey ends at 11:30 pm when i reached at home via ahmednagar-shikrapur-kharadi.

here ar some pics of pench greenery

i must say this is very hectic ride and when you get confused on road, that irritate. 1900 kms is still not a joke even when you have two days.
i must suggest that whenever you want to take this much long tour take as much sleep and plan everything. Planning is sometimes get affected by situation and weather.
                        so stay safe.
