Re: Yamaha RX 135 (600+km) Road Trip across Uttarakhand

More with respect to the trip was the 2nd day at Uttarkashi with the night halt and next morning heading off to Kharsali. Talking about the village of Kharsali, its situated at the lap of Banderpunch Glacier its a small village with one of the most diverse sections of Uttarakhand. Riding in mountains on that 5speed requires a lots of patience and with the power band located at high rpms plus the precarious roads were making it more fun to ride.

with 250 kms on the ODO and at Kharsali, i checked into friends room. Kharsali with a nice vernacular architecture carved with slated roofs and walls of mud and wood makes it one beautiful place to live in. Called as Chaan/Chaani these houses are home to Uttarakhand w.r.t. the culture.

          Night at Kharsali

          hi brother,

Many many congratulations on such a breathtaking trip with one of the most legendary bikes, this country has ever seen and experienced--Yamaha RX-135.
There could not be any better bike to experience the breathtaking views than our good old RX-135. Truly,-- legend greets heaven. The raw beauty of mother
nature looks completely in sync with one of the most beautiful raw powered engine, we have seen, listened, loved and enjoyed in this country. That blue
colour of Yamaha perfectly blends with natural blue and green colours of those surroundings.

Its so heartwarming to see another 2-stroke lover, maintaining and preserving a true legend with so much passion and love, (making an expansion chamber
on your own is even more impressive ).

That pic, in which a black cloud appears on the top of the mountain looking like a smoke, with beautiful sunlight coming from behind,is just out of this world.
Simply breathtaking and heavenly, looking like a scene from the famous japenese fighting cartoon series--Dragon ball Z.

How was the torque of the Yamaha, climbing up the hills along with that luggage ? The sound of that 2-stroke expansion chamber acclerating through those smooth gears must have been pure symphony echoing in those mountains.

Magnificent pics and experience---- Congratulations again.

          Cheers......

Indeed a symphony, the roads, hills and the mill..everyone is in the band and thus sweet is the symphony. Yamaha 5speed is a very different uphill. Low on kmpl figures but not on power ! A whole different experience with that brute.
            And thanks a ton pal.

Didnt paid a lot of attention to the kmpl figures ! But i did the 600km trip in 1500rs worth of petrol.

Smoke from the exhaust is bound to come, being a two stroke! A good tuned chamber can reduce that upto a great extent and your oil pump pumps the reqd amount of oil to the engine thus a lil smoke is inevitable. Its good infact being a two stroke ! ..and thanks a lot !

Fabricated raisers with 2.5inches in length screwed them on the top of suspension rods. Thus increasing the length and thus the height !
Rear shocks are from Yamaha SZ one of the long rear suspensions around !
Gave me good ground clearance and ride is smooth due to the smooth front pulsar forks !

                      thanks Ankitvile

like you mentioned you faced problems of water entering into fuel line.
how did you solved this problem?
                      how you restarted your bike?
                      which tyres you used?
did you replace OE hose pipe after increasing fork height?

Water seeped in though the carb. And now seeing more rains and the carb seeing lots of seeping in now is kaput !
I found out later maybe the last month i guess that my carb is/was faulty. The problem still persisted back then but on a lower degree ! Stranded in rains the water seeped in to the float only.
Anyways now I'm running on a 4speed's carb. Finding the original 5speed's is a lil difficult !

Back on the trip i removed the float threw away the residual petrol (with water in in). Capped the float chamber back and it ran fine. I had to troubleshoot a lot back then. I checked the tank and fuel there was no water ! Only the float chamber !

Increasing the front suspensions the only hose pipe i changed was the front disc one ! I guess you are referring to the same ! I installed that of karizma ! Pretty long !
