Is it taking NH2 till panagarh? And then take the right turn towards NH34, and meet NH34 at morgram(approx 20km from baharampur)?
Yes, that is the route. If someone wants to avoid the traffic at NH34, then that is the only option. BTW, Praveen said at present 90% of NH34 is ok. And I personally feel riders from outside states should at least ride once through the Durgapur expressway. Even Sunny was saying that it is way better than the highways of north india as the traffic here is lesser.

Yes, this route will be 120 odd km extra. See, a lot depends on the rider. If you wanna ride less, stick to NH34. If you wanna better road and at the cost of hundred km, take this route. I personally like the greeneries in both sides of NH34 though.

          Yes, check this.

3 Trains - Mumbai/BCT to New Jalpaiguri/NJP - India Rail Info - Database of Indian Railways Trains & Stations

Motorcycle parts may not be always available in north bengal. But in Kolkata it is readily available. Since the bikes will be traveling in train from Mumbai. There can be some damages to the bikes as well. In that case going straight to NJP can be a problem.

y cant u guys do like what we did.. transfer your bikes to NJP via GATI and start riding from there.. riding in plains is no fun man!
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

Always be ready (get geared) to fall and then think of sitting on the motorcycle.

Which road you are talking about? Details plz...

              trains 5645 and 5647
go upto new jalpaiguri (new jalpaiguri) which is practically in siliguri..or like razor blades suggested u could transfer the bikes by gati..or another option would be to come through calcutta but i wouldnt recommend it as it involves extra train time...and the calcutta -siliguri. route is no fun at all

Train upto NJP takes a hell lot of time spidey.i had spent 3.5 days in train jst to reach njp.
                it's a pain in the a**.

razorBlades, can you give some more info about GATI? We will be using such transporter services for our next trip... Any info about the cost and services.. where and how to receive bikes at the destination? ... how many days are required for transportation? etc.
It would be better if you pm these info to me... not doing more OT in this thread

Are we gona get parcelled via GATI as well???
& bro am really worried about bike getting damaged as we got fairings that can increase the budget by around 2k to the ride+the time to replace n all
BTW thx for the pics, your friend got a nice trip there. looks amazing, the MAJESTIC BHUTAN!

@vyasvivek, Jonak, Razor: thx for the info guys. BTW Razor can you tell me what was the condition of your bikes when they arrived @ NJP?

Search the net with GATI and you will get enough infos about them.
To be precise, go to Gati ->Express Cargo,Warehousing,Logistics Industry in India , Ahead in reach.

Keeping my fingers crossed for that.
Actually it's too early to say what I will be doing in sept/oct. Finishing my masters in July. That's all I know at this moment. I have couple of exams in sept/oct. Lets see if I can manage to do this trip.
