  • [Photo Feature]: Destination One : Ride to Nandi Hills

Plans had been going for a while since the time I had booked an Enfield. I was desperately waiting for the bike to arrive and then kickstart the first of many journeys.
Considering the first service in mind, I wanted to ensure that the distance should be in moderate range. Hence, opted for Nandi hills.

    A Night before .....
"Will wake up at 4, and start by 4 30"

    Reality..
Woke up at 4 on the first ring of my friend who was going to be the pillion. Slept off again, woke up finally at 4 30 when he called again to inform he was ready and waiting. Finally at 5, I was on the road towards Nandi, riding the bull

As I find the airport route much appealing any day, I opted for the same. The Ride was awesome early morning, non jammed roads of Bengaluru were a delight. Something which rather counts as extinct when the world is awake and running. I was very careful about ensuring that I stayed in the prescribed limit of 60-70 kmph. There was a rush about seeing the sun rise from the top but that seemed hardly possible. Anyways, taking my bull for a first good ride, was a real good feeling. The Pride of owning it, the thump of the same and in the dawn sky, when the headlights are on, the feeling was awesome. On my way I saw "Indian Paratha Company" the much talked about restaurant on the highway and took a note in my mind to stop there on the way back.

Finally after 90 mins, I could see a cloud covered mountain which resembled like the one I saw online. It was so pleasing, first ride, first destination of many to come. I was thoroughly surprised how well the bike held onto the curves and sped us up with ease. Reached the top with fog all around, the sun was hardly visible. Mist was dropping from everywhere. It was a good break from the regular routine. Enjoyed the stay, and started on the way down by 9. On my way down, we passed across 3 bikers who seemed professional, speeding up the way on a Duke, Ninja and Enfield at minimum 80+. I was awestruck , but may be that is how professionals are.

On the way back, we ensured a stop at "Indian Paratha Company", though its slightly pricey but thoroughly deserves for what it serves.
And thus by 11 30, I was back in my den.

Nice one. A few pictures of the route/spot would have done a world of good though.
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

I could see only pics of the yummy paratha. Others are not visible though.

OT: But capturing a aloo-paratha is much better than Nandi hills for me .
