Its nice to be here. Thanks to @B7LACKHORN sunilg for helping me with the registration. I learn a lot from xBhp by reading through the forum and had never thought of contributing until this point. Here I start with my first post.
It was Friday and the weather was cloudy here in Theni. Checked the weather map and it said its raining in Munnar which is 85kms away from Theni. Suddenly i thought let me take for a ride at least until Bodimettu. I was actually thinking of a ride in rain and went in search of rain. But if it doesnt rain, I knew that the weather would be awesome and hence I Started after lunch. I had my DSLR bag and a rain coat ready. I had my old Pulsar 180 Classic recently set ready after a piston change(kinda seized due to low maintenance, 15yrs old). So I thought I would take her for a warm up ride instead of CBR 250R. I was careful though not to spoil the pistons and valve, so i maintained 4500rpm through out for which the speedo read little more than 60km/hr.
Bodimettu is 41kms from Theni. The route is via Bodi which is 16kms from Theni.
As we started climbing the Ghat section the climate changed dramatically. There were mist everywhere crowning the mountains tops and temperature reading was 19C. As we got past some 30 kms she started struggling a bit due to altitude not being driven for a while. I couldnt enjoy the turns much as her suspension is weak and it has to be overhauled. Even her rear shoe is little short of grip. But managed to get her to the destination with no hassle. The last 10kms were absolutely stunning. We were into the turns and mist. Let the pictures speak for itself.
Reached Bodimettu in an hour comfortably and had a Hot tea and spent some time clicking. Enjoyed the cold weather sitting there near the check post for half an hour.
As it was getting darker by 16:45 i planned to start. I was a little sad that there was no drizzle. We just took the first hairpin bend down and we were literally blinded by the mist. It was absolutely a blissful experience. Couldnt resist clicking the beauty of the scene.
Then after some 10kms it started pouring heavily and I was extremely happy. Quickly put on my rain jacket and covered the camera bag and started cruising in 40km/hr enjoying the rain. Towards the end of the Ghat section the rain slowed down and it was still drizzling all the way until Bodi. After Bodi there was no rain but cloudy. Returned back home by 18:00 safely. I was completely satisfied with the ride and had a peaceful mind.

Suggestions are welcome with regards to my write up.

Being in Chennai it is not impossible, you can do visit these places comfortably in a weekend.
Planning to get the 220's silencer while restoring her shortly but i'm concerned about the weight of that.
