Panchet Dam (Border between Jharkhand and Purulia), which was constructed in 1959 and this is one of the big projects of DVC. Here is the picture of Google map.

Though it is showing 225km we had to take a detour due to bad road condition and the distance was almost 238km for one side. Due to late start we had to give a head start and thus no photos till Burdwan. We had stopped for tea, pee and butt break. We met a new friend there who liked our company.

From there on road condition was awful till Durgapur. Countless diversions and too much traffic made those hours hectic. After Durgapur road condition was slightly improved. Then we saw some scenic route.

After running for some 210km we finally reached the point where we had to leave NH2 and take left. But asking the locals we came to know that road condition on this road is so good that we might not be able to feel our bum for the next of our life.

Meanwhile we reached Panchet and we were awestruck to see the view. Now the photos will talk.
