Bhattarika temple is situated on the banks of the river Mahanadi in the district of Cuttack,in the division of Athagarh,tehsil of Baramba.According to the legends in puranic statements when Lord Parshuram was on a defeat spree with Saharasjuna,he prayed to Goddess Durga and it is this spot where she appeared for giving him weapons to fight.From then on she is being prayed in the form of Goddess Bhattarika.The place hold its importance during Durga puja and Akhaya Tritiya when thousands of visitors come for visit.
